Easy to fit direct to existing BMW OE top plate but I could se no reason to leave the original on - so fitted the Shad unit direct to the original rack without having the original sandwiched in between - same attachment holes are used.
Perfect part.

Compatible ONLY with BMW's metallic original rack
Compatible with all Shad top cases
Combines with the top plate supplied with the Shad top case
Designed specifically for the bikes listed

Top plate NOT included.
This product must be combined with the top plate supplied in the Shad top cases (sold separately) to complete the kit.
Not compatible with the Terra aluminium mounting plate. If you wish to mount a Terra aluminium top box you will need to use the regular mounting plate (D1B481PA).
Only compatible with BMW's metallic original rack, see W0FG78ST for use with non-metallic rack.

The Shad Top Box Fitting Kit is designed to allow you to mount a range of Shad top boxes onto your motorcycle. Each top box fitting kit is tailored to each specific bike which results in a high-quality product that is easy to attach and simple to connect to a compatible Shad top case. The Top Box Fitting Kit is designed specifically for this bike, guaranteeing the fit and ensuring compatibility with Shad pannier rails (where available). The simple to attach bike model specific fitting kit goes straight on to the tail of the bike and a Shad mounting plate (which is included in any Shad top box purchase except TR37/TR48) sits securely on top allowing a Shad top case to attach with ease.
