Shad Top Box Fitting Kit K0ZS18ST - Kawasaki Z1000 SX

Fitted to 2021 ninja 1000sx.
I am recovering from hip op, so I got someone else to fit. Boy am I glad. It was very fiddly to fit, with having to lower the rear under tray, and then locating 4 bolts mostly blind. A good deal of patience required. Now complete, the rack feels good quality, and fits alongside original panniers/frame, which was most important.

The product is great, and a good quality. However, fitting is a bit more in depth than the SHAD instructions would suggest as you need to drop the rear under tray to get to the wiring for the indincators and tail light to put through the bracket, there is a useful youtube video that shows how to do it, its not complicated, just fiddly

Bought for a 2019 kawasaki 1000sx and fitted to my 2015 kawasaki 1000sx. Bought to put on my partners 2019 1000sx but needed a top box on my 2015 1000sx so what did i have to loose so i tried it fitted perfectly with out modifications and was also able to fit panniers as no need to remove grab rails. Great bit of kit also had to buy my partner another one for her 2019 1000sx, she is also pleased now she has top box and panniers for our next holiday.
Difficult to fit on own but the use of bungees is the way to go.

This rack is manufactured from high quality materials and once assembled to the bike looks very stylish. Although tricky to assemble , to save time and unnecessary dismantling of wiring , I machined an 8 mm slot at the front of the plate to slide the cable into the cavity. I would also recommend rolling some paper around the threads of the 4 bolts that hold the plate on. The spacers can then be screwed onto the bolts and they will stay in place while you offer the plate on to the bolts before you finally reintall the tail lamp/ indicator assembly.

This fitted easy and does the job. Works with the panniers and is very sturdy.

On the shad rack, you need two people to fit, was fiddly holding everything together to bolt up. Took me three hours on my own, quite a bit of disassemble on the rear end.
