Oxford Alpha XA14 Alarm Disc Lock

The lock is everything you'd want it to be. Solidly built yet small and rounded shape making it easily portable in a pocket or small bag. Simple to set with an alarm loud enough to deter interference. Sportsbikeshop's price and fast delivery are once again the icing on the cake.

I've been using this for over a year now and have charged it only once. You do need the extra long Allen key (supplied) to get at the battery but it is easy enough to remove and charge.
It is easy to operate, 1 beep for armed, followed by confirmation beep, and 2 beeps for disarmed (when you store away) and as they follow in sequence, you arm and use, disarm and store. Simple.
It has not been affected by the weather and is wearing well. The alarm is quite piercing and therefore effective, and comes with handy reminder cable.
The only thing that would improve it would be a carry case.

My opinion is the more security the better.
This coupled with an alarmed chain will hopefully deter any thieves.

The device seems to be strongly made and should provide good deterrent for scumbags. My only concern is the setting and deactivation procedure in that I am not sure what the 'allowed' time to set and unset is - I dont think there is a pre-warning of alarm activation. That said, so far I havent set it off.

So had this for a short while and so far seems excellent. Easy to use with alarm on or off and is small enough to fit under my pillion cover on my Ninja 650 even with a few other bits in there. Robust, loud siren and rechargeable via usb which is a great feature. No more wasting money on those tiny button batteries. Haven't had it out in the rain yet but the battery unit seems to be welded as one unit with a plastic usb cover to keep the water out, so looks good for those of you who lock your bike up in the rain. The minder cable is also really good, and thoughtfully from Yale also has a small clip at the end so you can secure it to your bars or lever etc

After recently suffering a theft I decided to throw everything at the new bike security wise, did my research and liked the idea of this with the alarm rather than just a standard disc lock. I wasn't disappointed, the alarm is so loud so it gives me that peace of mind. It's really easy to charge up and holds its charge for a long time according to the description but I haven't had it long enough to know yet. I was so impressed with this little product that also got me a better price with the insurance company that I bought a second one for another bike in the family.

I bought this disc lock as a backup for a big chain lock so I'm hoping with the two of them on my bike, the "wrong uns " will go elsewhere.
The lock is bright yellow and chunky so will not be missed and the movement alarm works well, if knocked setting off the quite loud alarm.
I would recommended this product.

Great bit of kit very compact

Build quality is amazing, very easy to use. Come with 3 keys and the key identifier if you lose some. Alarm is very loud, so can hear it anywhere in the house.
Instructions are okay, had to work out how to de-arm as the instructions weren't clear for that bit.

Great design. Draws attention to your bike with the alarm. Disc lock 14mm pin is substantial too. Rechargeable battery is a winner. Great value for money. Very happy.

Small and light enough to carry around but also provides an excellent level of security.

This is a very sold, sturdy disc lock. The alarm is nice and loud and i havent had any issues with it going off itself in wind etc so its not too sensitive that it becomes as neiusance.
The only reason for losing 1 star is the charging port rusted as the rubber cover did not keep the rain out. This was after 1 year of use. The 2 year warranty covered it and i had a replacement lock within 48 hours of sending mine back to Sportsbikeshop!
They yellow paint is bright but seems to mark easily so would recommend a small bag if it's going to get chucking in a top box etc.

Needed a decent disc lock for out and about that doesn't weigh a small village. This fits the bill perfectly and actually fits under my seat (K1000SK)
but bought it to fit in jacket, it does. The screamer aspect is a bonus and straight forward to operate. Highly recommend this for all your away from home days without breaking the bank and once again SBS service is second to none.

Well built really loud disc lock, really handy that the battery is rechargeable.
