Verified Customer Reviews for Nikwax TX Direct Spray-On
Didn't work at all. Backside wet after being out 30 mins. Through two layers to skin.
Spray bottle mists the product well for good coverage. Be careful with spraying the floor though! Works well
People often complain that their waterproof clothing fails but they never clean and refresh the material. I use this spray on items that can't go in the machine with the TX Direct wash in and it's the best product I've found for Goretex or D-Dry.
Only used product on arms and so far so good, usual first class service from Sportsbikeshop.
Very easy to use great for topping up the waterproofing on your motorcycle gear.
After applying to my motorbike gear I still find I am having trouble with water coming through in areas. Not what I expected from something that was highly recommended by other users. Will look at what else is on the market
Have not tested it in the wet yet but application was easy. Not keen on the smell but that is not really an issue
Very good to have around, works on new and older clothing
So simple to use. Spray it on, leave it two minutes, wipe off the excess, let it dry. I use this on other clothing I want to rainproof.
Good stuff this, ensures the wet just beads up and rolls off. I use it as final protection after washing the gear in Nikwax Wash-in Direct and then reproofed with TX Direct. Some people use it after each time their gear's got wet.
I use it on bike gear, cycling and walking gear too. If you really dowse the item with it, not needed, it can leave some white marks that'll wipe off. Used sparingly it doesn't and it then goes a long way too.
Seems to re-proof textiles well and it's super easy to apply. Can be a little messy if you get a bit carried away with spraying but it seems to work well.
Easy to use spray on proofer. Hang my jacket, trousers and gloves up and give them a thorough spray. Dries overnight and lasts about a month in winter.
Unlike the wash-in stuff, this spray-on stuff actually works?
I've been using this product for many years use the pre wash first then spray and then sponge it onto the clothing for good protection. I've tried other products, but this one works better than anything else I've used.
Nikwax TX Direct Spray-On
- Specifically designed and optimised for breathable waterproof garments
- Easy and quick to apply spray-on application
- Allows treatment of specific areas such as elbows and seams
- Durable water repellency (DWR) develops on air drying
- Application treats seams, tapes and cords, as well as the fabric
- Environmentally friendly, water-based, non-aerosol, non-flammable and non-hazardous
Breathable waterproof garments are most likely to get sweaty and wet inside when used in damp or wet conditions. If the outer fabric absorbs water, the garment can lose up to 70% of its breathability. Therefore, the durable water repellency (DWR) on the outer fabric of your jacket must be maintained to ensure comfort. It will eventually wear off and need to be renewed with Nikwax TX Direct. Easy and quick to apply, its highly durable water repellency (DWR) develops on air drying. Specifically designed and optimised for breathable waterproof garments; it leaves a flexible water resistant treatment on individual fibres allowing moisture vapour to pass through, maintaining breathability. The spray-on application allows for direct treatment of areas which require it most, such as elbows and seams on jackets, and will not compromise the properties on internal wicking liners.
