Did a machine wash as per the instructions. Waterproofing came out very patchy. Then did a hand wash, which was an improvement, but still left areas which need further treatment. Think I'll have to get the spray wax to finish the job. Not too impressed.

Breathable waterproof garments are most likely to get sweaty and wet inside when used in damp or wet conditions. If the outer fabric absorbs water, the garment can lose up to 70% of its breathability.
