SENA 50S Bluetooth Headset & Intercom - Single

I have had SENA's since the 10S and the latest 50S with its Mesh qualities, improved speakers and ease of updates is second to none

I purchased this from Sportsbikeshop as it was one of the cheapest online. I had shopped here before so knew that I would get a good service, and they did not let me down.

Feels like premium quality product, can't compare with others as this is my first ever but so far met my expectations, speakers are good, volume fare, easy to install

So far so good. I've got Sena 10 and I have to say that this one is a huge improvement, especially in sound quality.

Really pleased with the sena very clear and mesh chat is awesome , worst bit is fitting to helmet and hiding the wires but once done all is good .

Upgraded after my trusty SMH10 got damaged. The 50s is a solid unit and promised easy functionality and set up. In truth, setting it up, especially the WIFI dongle, wasn't straightforward but YouTube videos were a godsend!
Once set up, and firmware updated, linking with my phone and my Nav 6 on the GS was easy. Sound quality is excellent and comms are good. Mesh works well but you need to get your head round setting it up.
My gripes... wind noise can be hard to get rid of. Voice commands bit hit and miss especially when using Hey Sena. Using Hey Google is better. With winter glives on dial tricky to use.
So, would I recommend? Yes. Its good but not excellent.

Fairly easy to setup and use, although the SNEA video instructions about QR codes seem unnecessary.

Can hear well, even with ear plugs.

Had a real job connecting to the wifi cable for firmware updates, took ages then I'm not sure what I did to get it to work.

Looks good and no problems with the helmet mounting, although I do have an HJC modular and the boom mike could do with being 10mm longer.

First group ride with 3 of using it, 2 of us connected every time time, the third had problems and we couldn't always hear him. That could be him though!

Purchased this sena with the intention of chatting to my mate who has an older version. Pairing was quick, simple and comms were stable throughout our cheeky ride out.
Although my helmet is a flip up and can be a little noisy the sena has seems to have removed the majority of wind noise that I used to get!
Sportsbikeshop were the cheapest and delivery was next day if my memory serves me correctly. Thanks guys.

Brilliant service, great product as I changed from a scala to sena. Sportsbikeshop offered great advice on the phone prior to my purchase from them. Will definitely be back. Also intend to visit when we can.

Awesome sound clarity, very easy setup. I did my research before buying as they are not cheap, a choice of 3 enclosed mics gives you a variety of applications dependent on your lid and requirements. Well worth the investment!!

Without doubt the Sena 50S is great for sound quality and numbers in a group.
It tries to do too much! There really is no need for a Bluetooth and a Mesh intercom. And that Ambient thing is pointless. Operation of it is complicated: push this for 5 seconds, or 10, or tap it, push and turn that for function 1, push this button together with that button for function 2. Insane!
The old problem with the Bluetooth is still there - on Bluetooth intercom, another group member can turn off your satnav! Better to use Mesh for all intercom and leave the Bluetooth for connected devices.
It's a lot of money. A LOT of money for, when it comes down to it, has only superior sound quality and a larger number of pairings to its advantage.
I've paid all that money now, so I'll have to stick with it for a long time. For a simple intercom, it's much better value to go for a BT Interphone device. At only 20% of the price, you get much the same result.

Well the Sena 50s has just made my riding even more enjoyable
Having the ability to have crystal clear comms and music is just fantastic to be able to keep onto her with the group just makes riding more enjoyable and safer

I already own a built in Sena 10u GT for my Shoei but wanted one I could use on my other lid and any other future lids. I'd been impressed with my current Sena after making the jump from an old Scala unit. First thought when I opened the box were impressive. Luxurious packaging and it actually felt like an occasion. Then when I saw the 50S for the first time I was really impressed. Thin, light and looks expensive. The amount of different accessories in the box is impressive. On the negative side the instructions that come with this unit (As any other Sena) are poor to say the least. But this is easily overcome with the excellent instructional videos on You Tube both official Sena and third party. Pity Sena don't spend the time including decent instructions in the box instead of having to resort to social media but that seems to be the way of the world with tech these days. Putting that on one side the unit is spot on. The clarity of the speakers is 2nd to non and puts some audio headphones I've had to shame. The jog dial and buttons are intuitive and glove friendly. A friend of mine rung me when I was on the bike and couldn't believe the clarity even though I had the air vents open on my lid. The specific 50s app is excellent too and makes pairing and creating a group a piece of cake. All in all I'm very impressed and happy with the 50s. If you have £300 and looking for the dogs in terms of intercoms then this is it.
