Givi WL901 Weightless Top Box - 29-34 Litre

I bought this top-box, along with the matching Givi 'Weightless' panniers for my Royal Enfield Meteor 350, due to its style and capacity and light weight. It will take a full-face helmet and other bits once the expansion zip is opened up. Very happy that it's so easy to take off the bike and carry when I don't need it.

Just the right size for what I needed and the extra expansion is useful. The lock felt a bit 'grindy' WD helped and some lock grease left over from my Honda lock kit. It wasn't too happy with fitting onto my mono plate and needed some encouragement to lock onto it. It's currently on the plate in the garage, I'm hoping it might relax and adopt the plate geometry a little, we'll see. I never trust locking mechanisms on there own so have found a way to secure with a strap as well. That's undoubtedly ruined my guarantee but as it's not that expensive the loss of guarantee out weighs the hassle of losing it and contents on the motorway.
So at the moment pleased with it, we'll see how well it performs this summer across Europe.

Got this to match the lightweight Givi panniers I already have fitted to my Tracer 900. I can use it whenever I need more space, or want to go touring, so it is not constantly exposed on the bike. Much better looking and more practical than a permanent cumbersome back box. It is as secure as any box will be on a motorcycle.

I received the top box in good time, how ever that's where the good review ended, I fitted the box to the Givi Rack all was good until I tried to remove the box from the bike, it just would not come off, I read the instructions many times still could not get it off, I called Sportsbikeshop to be told take it to a local bike shop, I did this and charged £20 for them to put a screw driver through the bottom of the box, it still not come off the bike, So I would not recommend this product nor would I recommend Sportsbikeshop on this occasion, Is it a case of the bigger we get the less we care

Ok so it wont stop bandits in the Badlands from taking your gear, but for Commuting and Leisure riding its a no brainer. Put your full face lid securely* out of sight whilst you grab a coffee and bacon roll or pick up a meal deal on the way home. Lots of space!! Is it waterproof? - As yet untested. I've slung a lightweight drysack rucksack in their just in case.

I wanted a top box for my KTM 790, but didn't want anything too big, bulky, or heavy to upset the diminutive size and handling of the KTM. Small top boxes were too small to carry a helmet - the WL901 can carry a full face helmet with no issues.
Build quality is great. And it is light!
The top box lid is secured with a zip. I was a little concerned ,but the zip is also combined with a clever combination lock. The lock works well; but can be a little difficult to see the numbers.
The top box is not fully waterproof; but it does come with a generous dry bag to keep your clothes and documents dry.
