Enduristan Sandstorm 4A Tank Bag 13-20L

Fits perfectly on my 2014 BMW R1200 GSA. Doesn't block the view of the instrument cluster. Very well made. I use it to carry spare gloves, first aid kit, helmet carrier, small spare parts, flashlight, etc. I highly recommend this tank bag.

I was looking for a small tank bag as a 30 litre tank, fully fuelled and a tank bag would take the weight to, what for me, is an unacceptable level. However, there were no bags that fitted my criteria. I took a long look at this bag and thought that although it's expensive, it has some of the qualities I am looking for. My first impressions were that it was too big. I'm not good at leaving dead space and tend to fill luggage to stop things rattling around. However, once I'd fitted the bag (more on that shortly), it appeared to fit my brief exactly. The fitting of the bag isn't intuitive. I was worried about getting it wrong and breaking something but, the bag is very robust and forgiving so a push and pull here and there got it fitted. Once in place the bag is very secure. The elasticated securing straps hold the bag to the tank as tight as you want and they can be adjusted. The underside of the bag which is in contact with the tank is made of a grippy foam material which again secures the bag to the tank slip free. Securing the front is around the steering head and is a simple affair, just take the buckle apart, thread it around and reassembled. The instructions show how to fill your tank when using the tank bag. In the diagrams it says, unfasten the forward straps, slide the bag backwards and expose the filler cap. In reality, this isn't how it works. You will need to unfasten the bag completely as getting it back in position with the rear elasticated straps in place is difficult. This isn't a show stopper as it's the same with most bags and I'm happy to trade a minute or two extra at fuel stops for an extremely secure bag. The expansion system is a great idea. You simply undo the velcro loops and pull the bag up to your desired depth then load it up and pull them down to secure the contents tight. In some expansion bags you find yourself not wanting to expand the bag as you only need a tiny bit of extra space. This bag lets you fine tune which, put a massive smile on my face when I couldn't find room for a couple of beers. There are small glands in the front of the bag and the map case to pass cables through for electrical equipment (they look waterproof but I can't confirm). My iPad pro fits into the bag and the map case allowing me to charge up on the move which, is a massive bonus. Inside the bag there are moveable dividers that allow you to separate kit if required. There are also some natty features like a key ring on a click buckle and mesh pockets for documents. There is a removable pouch on the bag which is great for small items that need to stay separate from the inside contents (I don't smoke but it looks like an ideal place for cigs and lighters or e-cig stuff). My only issue is the zip. The lid needs to sit over the rigid part of the bag before you can close it. If the zip isn't properly lined up it can jam and this I think will stress the zip to eventual failure. This was a minor annoyance and again the time spent ensuring the zip is lined up is a good trade for a quality bag. I can't vouch for the bags waterproof quality as my journey up to Scotland was surprisingly dry but, looking at the construction and materials used, I think the bag will perform well. For what it's worth my opinion of this bag is 9\10, if you ride an adventure type machine then this bag is perfect. I'm looking forward to using it on long tours once travel restrictions are lifted.
