HJC R-PHA 11 Carbon - Black

This is an excellent lightweight lid, superb quality as always from HJC and the finish is great. Only reason for knocking one star off, the ventilation is poor. One small opening in the nose area (big grill effect, front openings appear to be just for aesthetics). Tiny forehead one for top of visor. And the wheeled, head ones don't really give you any air. So if you want a well ventilated lid, this one probably isn't for you. Noise wise, no real wind noise to speak of, it is louder than some but on a par with most mid level lids I've worn. Overall I'm happy, just a little disappointed with the lack of ventilation.

This helmet is light. Fits good. And looks amazing. But I have noticed the wind noise is considerably more than my previous helmet ( agv k1). Overall a really nice quality, comfy and good looking helmet. Sportsbikeshop service is fantastic.

Well ventilated but still quiet. Very light. Looks stunning with the not road legal gold visor. Very comfortable. Hard to find any fault with it.Normally I go for Schuberth helmets. This HJC is on par quality wise. Almost perfect colour match for Kawasaki green.

I like carbon fibre, and have a habit of replacing perfectly good original parts with CF ones, mostly for weight saving (yes, I could eat less pies and drink less beer, but where's the fun in that?) but also for appearance.
So when HJC launched the old HQ1 in carbon a few years ago I bought one, and loved it.
I wear glasses and ride sports bikes, and I find that the upper aperture height can be a problem, causing me to strain my neck to lift up my head so that I can see high enough in my field of view.
Looking for sightlines to see where the road goes in hilly areas, looking up to traffic lights, all can result in neck pain for me and that can distract.
So I tried a couple if other helmets when the HQ1 was due for replacement, but they didn't suit me as well as the trusty old HQ1.
I saw the R-PHA 11 was available in carbon, and ordered one- I had to try it on to see if it would cause the neck issue, but knew I could return it if it wasn't right for me.
But it's every bit as good as the old helmet in terms of design, appearance, ease of spectacle use and, importantly for me- no neck ache.
It's still a bit tight on the cheeks- all new helmets are, and it'll settle in just right with a few more rides.

And it's light. Very light.
And it's carbon fibre.
Boxes ticked for me.

Slight negatives? Only that the double d fasteners have fairly sharp edges, so the strap doesn't pull through very easily, but they'll wear in time. And the retaining popper to stop the strap flapping in the breeze seems very high up, and sits partly in the lining. So I have to fiddle about to find it.
I'll get used to it.

The pics do not do this lid justice it's sparkly as well! Looks the nuts! Really light. Great fit for me.

I decided to buy the helmet because the older generation does not have the insert for the HJC audio system. Can never go wrong with this helmet. Great! Fit comfortable and an upgrade to my old helmet!

Having lived with Hjc helmets in the past I've enjoyed them there great helmets I've had the lot from aria shoei age you name them this is a great helmet light looks awesome so many comments and great value very comfortable too highly recommend

Can't really go wrong. Light. perfect for my head and neck.

Finally after many Helmets and much disappointment, I Have found a Helmet that ticks all the boxes, it is made out of carbon fibre and weighs only 1300grams so long journeys are more comfortable on my neck, peripheral Vision is very Good, it is important for me as I ride a sports bike. The fit is really good I am a medium 57 - 58 cm head size, the cheek pads are a little tight but will wear in. The Pin lock works very well, no more misting up , The looks of the Helmet are fantastic in the Breer Green. Double D ring chin strap can be done up with my sports gloves on. only one little gripe it is a little bit noisy but is acceptable. comes with a spare smoked Visor. Air vent are adjustable, and cools the head well. Thanks to Sportsbikeshop for price matching and great service.

Helmet is light comfortable and fits my weird shaped head well. Good looks and she'll designed. Pin lock is a great addition as standard. It is a little noisy but not anything too bad. I wear ear plugs.
