Knox gloves are always good, but this is the first pair of winter gloves I have bought from them and all I can say is WOW they are super warm so good I will be buying another pair for my wife.
As ever, the service from SBS remains first class. I'm not a serious winter rider but after over ten years, I felt it was time to change my Knox zeros with the Boa tightening system for something more up to date and hopefully warmer. First impressions are positive but due to the more limited adjustment it's essential to get the correct fit. I'm as yet, not convinced by the way you adjust the fit of the gloves is better than the previous approach but time will tell. Additionally, the finish of some of trim is not up to the normal high Knox standard. However, it's hard to fine a safer pair of gloves and overall warm and waterproof.
Feel like the will offer plenty crash protection and even more wind and rain protection. Purchased in preparation for next winter but from wearing them I could feel my hands getting very warm. As usual 5* service as returned the large size in favour of the tighter mediums without issue or fuss!
The Knox Zero 3 MK2 gloves are a try before you buy glove
I ordered 2XL size using the size chart this gave me a left glove that was too big and the right glove was a good fit
Returned for an XL size a better fit but more snug than expected, after a few wears out they are improving the 2XL would have ended too loose fitting
To be honest I think a 2XL for my right hand and an XL for my left would have been perfect
Sportsbikeshop have an excellent returns policy so a big thumbs up to them
All fingers and thumbs are the right length no long flappy thumb to try and operate switchgear
They are a winter glove and do a decent job not needed heated grips yet,the leather is soft and supple, quality of the glove is really good plush lining which make the glove feel bulkier than most, regular wearing gets you used to that
The cuff is shorter and that's where the velcro strap is for a snug fit as they are designed for the cuff to go under the jacket sleeve, although I prefer over the sleeve and on that they work fine
As said earlier try them first they are a good glove
I gave these gloves the 4 rating because of the fit but don't let that put you off
I have not been able to fully test the gloves so far out in the cold but there is a few things to note.
First these gloves seem very well made and warm.
However the sizing is a little unhelpful.
I went to the actual Knox site to get the manufacturer sizing and after measuring my hands turned out I was a Medium (on the larger side of Medium but well within).
So I ordered. When they arrived I put them on (With difficulty) and while the hand fit well it was overall far too tight. I tried to get used to them but after a few tries the inner lining came out with my hand and I spent 10 mins with 5 chopsticks trying to get the fingers back in. Not something I would want to do if I was out riding.
I sent the gloves back and ordered a Large. These gloves also fit well, obviously a little large but not by too much and I'm very happy with them.
I
Oozing quality, these gloves are super warm and extremely comfortable, yes they feel a bit thick, a bit tight, and a bit clumsy at first, but after my first decent ride with them on, they moulded and stretched to shape and now fit really well, and the usual dexterity and feel has returned to my ride, I have worn these in very wet cold conditions and they have performed exceptionally well, keeping me and my hands completely warm ad dry, you can actually see the rain water running off them! These gloves have performed above my expectations, and im so pleased I bought them.
When you first examine and try them on, It is very apparent the team at Knox have put a lot of thought into the design of these gloves, combining safety, with comfort and a very unique style that is without compromise to the user. The visor wipe on the thumb works well and they are super grippy too
They are expensive gloves, but sports bike price is the cheapest and the quality cant be beat and so neutralises the cost.
I cant recommend them enough for our cold winter roads, I love the reflective flash on the back of the glove too a great safety feature.
Ordered and delivered next day with super fast service, and I have absolutely no regrets with my purchase, a very warm happy biker.
Overall - they're great, but then they should be at this cost. That's a LOT of money!
Positives?
Flexible, lightweight, snuggly and look and feel quality. The GoreTex should make them waterproof and the 'padding' should make them nice and warm - yet to try out warmth and waterproof-ness.
Neutrals?
They are tight, so consider a size up if it's an option. Mine are 2XL and I'm not sure if Knox do a 3XL. Apparently, they stretch fairly quickly, but the first few rides on my bike have been 'interesting'. I'm thinking of wearing them in the evening in front of the telly, fists clenched, but they're just toooooo warm.
Knox always do some unusual closure systems (I've got 2 Boa fastening Knox gloves that don't fit under my jacket sleeves). These gloves fasten with yet another system. The jury's still out.
Negatives?
That price - ouch! It took a lot of convincing for me to stump up the cash, 'cos I don't courier or commute anymore, and only use the bike for leisure.
I'm not sure what the visor wipe is going to do, as it's very small. I'll probably just continue wiping my hand across the visor, and using RainX as a coating once a month or so.
All in all they seem to be a quality pair of gloves, so should see out my lifetime of winter riding. If they do, great & a good investment. If they don't, I'll have to have a word with Mr Knox.
I live in Ireland so as a lot of you would know it rains quite a lot here.
Its winter now and has been raining quite heavily which is why I purchased these gloves and I cant tell you now that they're definitely worth it!
My commutes are quite far and they've kept my hands nice, dry and toasty.
I would recommend going a size up as they are tight to start off with and fit true to size. But once they've been worn in these gloves are my go to gloves for the winter!
Sizing accurate for a snug fit, lining pulls out if not careful and could barely control the bike on day one due to their stiffness but being leather they are stretching a bit over time, after a couple of weeks they are much more comfy and flexible. think they will be spot on when fully broken in. scaphoid protection seems good. Definitely too warm for summer, but should be nice through end of autumn and into winter. the cuff is fairly chunky but does fit (just) under both my 2 jackets sleeves

The Zero3 MkII Winter Glove is a high performance, warm, waterproof, and protective winter riding glove from Knox. The Zero3 MkII is designed to be worn under the cuff of your motorcycle jacket. Featuring superior technical materials. Unique Knox Seal which is 100% waterproof, Primaloft thermal insulation, Knox Micro-Lock Knuckle protection and the Patented Knox Impact Scaphoid Protection System - SPS. The Scaphoid Protection System (SPS) on the palm (Patent No EP1594378) eliminates the grab effect that occurs when a leather palm makes contact with the road, reducing the risk of hyper-extension which can result in a broken scaphoid. Made from tough goat skin with a durable water resistant film, the waterproofing is enhanced by a highly breathable and 100% waterproof 'Knox Seal'. This has been designed to ensure the fingers do not pull out when the glove is taken off - a frustration for so many riders. The Zero3 MkII also features soft Knox Micro-Lock impact protection on the knuckle, wrist and Scaphoid Protection System.
