Good idea, but not perfect
29 January 2024 by Steve F
Just used these for a 250 mile through North Wales. They take a bit of effort to get them to sit well in your boot but that said you forget they are there quick enough. Not sure of there longevity though. Importantly, the heating aspect worked well, which is the idea I guess!

Riding in 2 degrees with toasty feet is a phenomenal feeling. Should have bought these sooner

Does the job

Easy to use and great at keeping the chill away from your feet although they are a little bit narrow in the calf.

Good idea poor quality

This is my 3th pair of this socks. Each pair last just 1 season so about 4/5months...they do the job but in about 2 weeks the main wires start to come out from they're place. The only reason I bought the 3rd pair it's because I have the gerbing set up on my bike...I think next year I'll go for keiss as they have some new socks that heat's up all around the food, not just insoles as they don't work for me.The other thing that I have a issue is that they are tall and very tight on my leg so I always try to keep them just above my boots. If think they have to make them shorter and work on some other system to keep the wire in place....

Gerbing Socks- Game Changer
23 January 2022 by Darren B
Having suffered from cold feet for some time ... I bit the bullet and bought the socks.
I was already impressed by the gloves which gave me the confidence to invest in the socks. ( and jacket )
They are not cheap.
They came with inner ankle socks .. I preferred to use my own full length inner socks as they were more comfortable.
I connect them to my Gerbing digital controller which also powers my jacket .. so they operate on the same setting as the jacket.
Only been out twice so far ... and lowest temp was around 2° c ... but I found no reason to set at any more than level 2 (out of 5 ).
As mentioned on other reviews, they are not quite shaped for the toes... but I found them more comfortable with my own full length inner socks rather than those provided.
It would be easy to mark them down to a 4 for that - but for me - I would rather mark them up.
I was fortunate to buy them in the black Friday sale - being a regular Sportsbikeshop buyer , I received an email in advance offering a generous discount.
I appreciated that.
It's great to buy local and be rewarded for that.
When I purchased I was advised that they were on back order and offered the choice of cancelling.
Must say I am not on SBS payroll - but how refreshing to have that level of communication.
They arrived ahead of the indicated date.

Having purchased and used ...in hindsight would I still purchase ...

Definitely.

Deffo works for me.

Actually like a sock
20 April 2021 by Anonymous
This newer version is so much better than the old one, they are actually like a normal thick long sock instead of a thick stocking but I can't feel any wiring either! Great!!

Heat wise they are ace, very warm and on long journeys well worth the effort of hooking them up. The cost is substantial but you can't put a price on avoiding frost bitten toes.

The only real downsides is the hassle involved in hooking everything up but that is expected and I wouldnt bother for short commutes. Also it really depends on your set up how easy it is to control the temperature with mutilple gerbing items requiring different controllers etc. I use the pro jacket and old style XRL gloves too which means the socks are linked to the glove temperature setting with a duel controller. I sometimes find I have to unhook the socks for a while as they get much warmer than the gloves.

They are 5 star items individually well worth it but for the price I would expect them to come with a basic controller so they can be used, individually, out of the box. They don't. The nuisance and extra cost required for controllers is why they get a 4.

Warm tootsies!!
11 January 2021 by Lorraine R
These are a great addition to my other heated gear by Gerbing. Great coverage. Only drawback is the square shaped toe end which does crumple up when placed in rounded toed boots. Would have been better if they could have been more shaped to fit - otherwise, great!

So much better - though not actually 'toasty'
26 November 2019 by Anonymous
I bought the Large (L) size of these Gerbing socks, which I was pleased with. However,
after a handful of rides, the heating wires started to tear out of the socks so I exchanged
the Large (L) for Extra Large (XL): I am only a size 9.
Gerbing recommend using ordinary socks underneath these heated socks, which works
well and is nice and warm, but it also makes these socks significantly undersized. Now
I m using the XL, which are the largest size Gerbing offer, and bought some cheap,
comfortable boots which are also one size over. But the socks are a tad fragile. Plus, if
you ve got bigger than size 9 feet, you could be in for a problem
I have the gloves already and found I needed to have two controllers: all the wires and
two controllers are a bit of a pain when riding, and adjusting heat on-the-fly can be a
nightmare especially in cold, dark and rainy conditions.
In the end, if you treat these socks carefully, use an under-sock and get a size larger
than normal (with bigger boots), these are wonderful. They are not actually toasty in
very cold weather, but they do keep your feet warm and comfortable enough. Even with
the foibles, I wouldn t ride in the Winter without them now.
