Merlin Edale Textile Jacket - Black

I'm a 39inch chest I got a Size M which was a snug fit. I heard Merlin jackets came up large and that you should size down but I definitely didn't find this to be true for me

I bought this to replace my textile adventure jacket and couldn't be happier. The jacket has a reassuring feel to it when worn and has kept me both warm and dry although I haven't yet tried it in sustained heavy rain. Early signs are that I won't have any issues and I'm now looking at getting the Lombard trousers to go with it. The style is exactly what I wanted to go with my Scrambler too and would happily wear it to the pub or to watch the rugby!

I bought this jacket after researching what was available and this ticked all the boxes, weather protection (with removable liner), vented, great level of protection and looks great on and off the bike. Yes it's a little heavy but I like that and the quality is apparent, the price was superb and delivered very quickly with me being informed throughout.. Time will tell how good but I can't see me being disappointed.

I bought this jacket to complement a pair of Lombard trousers that I purchased a few days earlier.
Sizing was as specified and the delivery was complete within two days of placing my order .
I benefitted from purchasing a sale item so value for money was excellent.
The jacket itself is warm and waterproof so far, I've only had it for two weeks, however have completed a trip from Edinburgh to Skye and Applecross during inclement weather, the jacket performed perfectly keeping me warm and dry, I also commute every day and so far no issues at all.
I would based on my experience so far recomend Merlin products to anyone

Lovely quality product. Really warm with the outlast liner in. If you're between sizes go a size down. I wear the jacket as much off the bike (probably more!) as on. Good value but I would have liked a back protector as standard. Definitely recommended

Excellent weather protection. Layer up or down underneath to create your own microclimate. Good quality and finish detailing. I've taken the armour out and wearing it as a great looking winter coat until the snow and ice clear. 5 stars.

Very Comfortable and Warm too It feels a bit Heavy at first but you soon get used to it, Incredible value for the Money So much So I don't see how others can charge so much more for similar jackets Maybe wear and Tear but only time will tell, I highly recommend it

Really pleased with this jacket it fits well, very warm with some nice pocket features and details. It's heavier than you'd expect but once you're wearing it it's very comfortable. Sizing is accurate and there's lots of poppers and zips to make it look more fitted if desired. All round great value for money as it's looks more expensive than it is.

I have both the Merlin Yoxall 2 and the Edale. The Edale is a little more expensive but I think the extra money is worth it.
The Edale is made with the "Cotec" fabric. It's lighter and more flexible than the traditional heavier wax cotton used in the Yoxall 2 but it's also more abrasion resistant.
Merlin jackets offer great value for money as the fit, finish and features are beyond what you'd expect at this price.
The fit is generous so you can layer up but if you want it to fit tight over a tee shirt then you may have to size down.

I bought the Merlin Edale for a three season jacket, after purchasing the Merlin Shenstone mesh jacket for the summer (which I was really impressed with)
I am a 38" chest and the small fits me perfectly. It's a 3/4 jacket so keeps your lower back covered during the cold months. On my 30 minute early morning commute I was nice and toasty with just a T-shirt underneath at 1°c. The neck is soft and watertight, while the cuffs fit tight on a second press stud allowing gloves to easily fit over them. I was caught in a downpour on the motorway on its maiden journey and not a drop got through. I bought the back protector for the Shenstone which also fits the Edale. All the protection is flexible and comfortable.
Very pleased with this stylish, retro jacket which performs as good as it looks.

Removable outlast internal liner.

Pour information je mesure 1m85 pour 76kg ; j'avais d'abord pris la veste en taille L mais elle s'est avérée trop large. J'ai retourné le produit pour une taille M qui me convient parfaitement (épaule, poitrine, longueur des manches…)

Il s'agit d'une veste de grande qualité tant du point de vue des finitions (coutures, boutons pression, fermetures éclair…) que des matières (toile cirée Cotec, doublure amovible…) . Elle est légère et protège bien du froid surtout lorsque le matin il fait frais et en fin de journée chaud comme ces derniers temps. Je ne l'ai pas testée sous la pluie mais je n'ai aucune crainte quant à la protection.

En résumé : tout a été parfait !

Cannot fault this jacket in any way at all, fits spot on and doesn't compromise movement, its comfortable to wear and for the rides I have done thus far (approx 500 miles) it has been toasty warm. The build quality is excellent and for the price point you'd be hard pushed to beat this jacket.
