Oxford Aqua M8 Tank Bag - Khaki / Black

Really useful sized bag. Strong magnets which keep it fixed to the tank. It comes with a safety strap to fit around the headstock but it seems like an afterthought that the lawyers insisted on and not well thought through. It would take ages to do up and undo every time I got on and off and wanted the bag. So I replaced the strap with a snap clip and some 25mm webbing strap. This means I can hop off the bike and go into a shop or when I get to work and simply unclip the bag and pull it off the tank. Haven't used it in a downpour yet but it has welded seams so should be OK. Has a number of webbing loops on the front to which I have added a clip for my keys when off the bike. The mobile phone pocket on the front is a super tight fit for my Galaxy A12 with my rubber phone cover removed. Anything larger simply wouldn't fit so I got lucky there and this isn't the largest phone out there by a long shot. I can use the phone touchscreen through the plastic. The phone pocket has the close fitting section behind the see-through plastic, and then a slightly larger section behind that ideal for storing my visor wipes etc without them getting lost and crushed in the bottom of the main bag. If it had come with the snap clip fitting on the safety strap that it so clearly needs I would have given it 5 stars.

I have scored excellent as I have not ridden with it on the bike yet. But I have set it up on the bike and the magnets are very strong and it appears to be very secure. The material is very robust and appears to be very waterproof. The phone pockets look's very useful too and the storage looks considerable and what I need.

Rated good only as I haven't yet tried it in heavy rain which it's going to see shed loads of as I'm an all year round commuter. Usual good Oxford quality and certainly looks as if it will be waterproof. A little issue of the headstock strap being absent was easily resolved by a quick email and Martin at Sportsbikeshop got me a strap sent through from Oxford. It's the good service like that which keeps me using this shop, probably too much according to my other half.
