AGV Sports Modular Sharp - Carbon / Red / White

I insist on having a flip front helmet, but I shay don't like the idea of a heavy helmet putting excess strain on my neck.

After hours of comparing the best from Shoei, Schubert, Caberg, HJC etc I dropped on this little beauty.

The lightest out there as the shell is made from pure carbon.

Fire was perfect for my very oval shaped head however, my head size was right between medium and large so i opted for the Snugger smaller size but it was a little too tight. SBS quickly exchanged for the large version.

The visor opening mechanism takes a bit of getting used to as it locks in place and needs to be released before you can raise it, but it's still a one handed operation.

Comfy, light, quiet what more could you want.

Its a beautiful helmet and incredibly light for this type in fact its light for any type of helmet.
The ventilation is by far the best I've had on any of my previous lids and I've had a few! The visor is excellent and so is the drop down sun screen.
I dont like the central button to release the clear visor to lift it up, just seems overly complicated when a traditional side thumb lip is far easier to use. A minor point but non the less I don't see the benefit.
As is typical with AGV the chin bar is quite close to your chin when it's in the down position but all AGV are like this.
Very comfy and personally I think it's quite quiet too. On an upright bike its brilliant and I love the wind in the face feeling when travelling through towns and villages. On a sportsbike it's less good as for me your vision whilst in a prone position is a little compromised and you tend to find your looking through the top third of the visor only and the top of the eyebrow line of the lid itself is quite low so limits your field of view slightly. That said it's probably not designed for sportsbike and is more adventure, touring type of bike market . I'm loving it though and with a price match by sportsbike I got a good deal, so well happy. This is the first modular helmet that fitted me without feeling like it was going to stop me breathing!
So light and comfortable with a great visor so clear !! Easy to use front opening mechanism not fiddly like others i have tried.

Beautiful light, quality helmet, unfortunately there was a slight quality control issue from AGV( a noticeable mark on carbon fibre) but thanks to excellent service from Sportsbikeshop and especially follow up from Thomas, a replacement helmet was delivered.

For a carbon fibre helmet (the chin piece as well unlike so many others) the price is superb. Lightweight, super strength, great colours and technical bits ie the vent at the back, titanium lugs, quick release catch etc. Great gloss finish and a perfect fit as ever from AGV.

First impressions are really good. It looks great and is noticeably lighter than my other flip front helmet (Nolan N100).
Inside doesn't feel quite as plush as the Nolan but it's still been comfortable to wear, although I've only wore it for 20 -30 min commutes so far.
The field of view is excellent, this is something I was struggling with while wearing the Nolan on my sportsbike.
It's a very stable helmet, I've not found this to be an issue with any other helmets but this is a much smoother helmet in the wind than anything else I've worn in 13 years of riding.
The flip front is easy to open and close, although I find two hands are needed to close it or the chin curtain folds up inside the helmet.
The visor mechanism is good too. I like that it can be secured in a cracked open position.
The ventilation is excellent.
Some reviews have commented on the wind noise but I haven't found it to be any different to my Nolan N100 or the Caberg Duke. I don't wear ear plugs for my commute, which includes national speed limit roads and opportunities to stretch the legs of a sportsbike and it is noisy but no worse than I am used to. For all other journeys ear plugs are a must.
Overall I'm really impressed. I'm not sure I could have spent £600 on it (even knowing now how good it is) but at £300 it's excellent value for money.

EXCELLENT FIT NOSE DOES BRUSH VISOR BUT THEN THEY ALL DO ARAI AS WELL.

Fits well light as a feather and everything works like it should

Amazing helmet. Basically the only option for someone like me with a very delicate neck looking for a comfy modular helmet to use for long trips. It took a few hours to properly break in and to become comfortable (the interiors are a bit stiff when new) but once the interiors soften it's like a pillow and you don't feel it on your head!
Field of vision is top because of the wide visor and the Pinlock MaxVision 120 already in the box.
I love the system to lock the visor a few mm open, I could't find this in other helmets and it's great both during the winter and during the summer, also to operate with winter gloves.
The only weak point is the fact that it is slightly louder than the average of this category of helmets, for example my X-Lite X-403 GT Ultra Carbon is quieter, but that's ok because the weight reduction is further 140grams which can't be solved like with earplugs for the other one!

My first carbon lid, but my second flip top. This meets the standards I expect from AGV but it is the little things that make it stand out, The visor lock down has 2 positions ("closed" and "cracked") which means some choice when riding in city traffic. It is noticeably lighter than my K5 quieter though. I had to remove the chin curtain completely to make it comfortable. The padding is very tight although I expect it to loosen up with use. The only downside for me is that the chin bar is a lot closer to the face than in my other AGVs. (just means I need a nose job in the near future,LOL) The Service from SBS was fantastic as usual,a minor problem with my order was addressed in hours and before the lid was shipped.My mates all love my new kit (and are a little bit jealous).

Considering the price tag and information stating the sports modular is one of the best helmets on the market I have to whole heartedly disagree.
Looks are great, flip front works easily, that's the positives out the way. Fit uncomfortably small and tight on one side, sun visor takes a layer of skin off the nose every time it's fully deployed, and noise...... this is the most disappointing this helmet is noisy - ear plugs are a must!!
Visor locking catch fiddly, vents OK nothing special.
Save your money go for a Shark as was my previous lid.

A very light helmet great quality, small fit maybe go up a size than you usually order. Not as quiet as Schberth C3 or Shoei Neotec but a lot lighter especially when riding for a few hours. Better visibility than both of the other helmets, it also come with Pinlock insert provided. Sun visor very easy to use with gloves on, main visor locks into place which can be a bit awkward to open until you get use to it. Very pleased.
