SW Motech Crash Bars - Honda XL 700 V Transalp (07-)

These crash bars are very sturdy, very secure when mounted and look great too. They fill out the front of the bike and give it more presence. In a slow speed topple I have no doubt the bike would be protected.

Fitting is a real pain though! The instructions are not very clear but just lay out each part and check them against the parts list.

The trickiest bit for me was figuring out where to mount the two flat bars that run diagonally up each side of the front engine cylinder. It's not obvious in the instructions but you have to remove the long bolt that runs through the front of the engine casing from left to right. This bolt is replaced by the 220mm bolt from the kit and the hooked end of flat bars is installed to that with the appropriate supplied spacers. This will make sense when you look at it. Hopefully that info will help someone else!

Overall, the bars look great and I'm very happy with the extra protection they provide. I'd recommend and buy again.

Straight forward to fit, but needs some ability. The instructions are clear, but you do need to study them first.

Replaced my Givi and the quality difference is noticeable.

Look great on and combined with the engine guard transform the appearance of the bike.
