Couldn't get the right fit

I am a size 8. The XS (8) fitted well but was tight between the legs at the crotch so it wasn't very comfortable sat on the bike. Tried the S (10) but that was too big all round. The hip and knee protectors are very hard. The material of the trousers is very good quality and I loved the colours but had to return both pairs due to the fit.
