Outstanding fit and finish. Day long comfort coupled with durability make this the best boots available.
I have been looking at adventure touring boots and this model for the last six months. After readings countless reviews, I finally took the plunge. I have about 4 other pairs ranging from TCX X-street, to TCX Hero Waterproof, and Forma Adventure Low boots - all very good, but have all the same problem: they let water in after a long commute or ride. But not these!
Futuristic design - I feel like a stormtrooper. Once you manage to get in for the first time (with a little swearing and lot of sweating), push and twist the BOA system, wrap the Velcro, take your first few steps, and you realise it was all worth it - both the price tag (not the cheapest) and the initial thought than you bought the wrong size. It does get better after some wearing in.
Very comfortable, very good protection. No stiffness when you walk, thanks to the articulated ankle. And so far totally waterproof.
Do compare other boots, but I choose these and so far they have delivered on all the specs.
Amazing boot excellent
I was looking for an adventure touring boot offering protection, waterproofing and comfort. It is not about off-road for me.
The ground up design is impressive, apart from overtrousers these are a trousers tucked in design - the shin pads are significant. So you have to buy into that from day one. I also wanted tall boots for the high pipes on my Scrambler as it can get toastie.
I had a shortlist of Sidi Adverture 2, Daytona Transtourman GTX and the Rev-It including the more subtle Discovery but the look and colour of the Expeditions was spot on as is the subtle branding.
I had to size up and they are snug, a boot jack is useful for taking them off.
Comfortable on and off the bike, they are breaking in quickly. This is an investment purchase and I had to weigh up mainly the trousers in aesthetic against everything else they ticked.
Pre COVID-19 I was doing in excess of a 1,000 miles a month just on my commute and mainly motorway but absolutely did not want normal road boots.
The BOA closure is smart, I do wonder if two closures might have been better but it does work really well.
They are easy to walk in and the articulated ankle works really well but has a slight creak but that's not important to me. What is important though is the ankle restraint allowing very small lateral movement and protection for torsional twisting in an off.
It has taken me a little time to aclimatise to the toe box size when changing gear but I think this is because I have been wearing Rokker Urban Racers for many years. These are shorter, softer and a less protective and the Rev'Its are a size larger. I suspect it's a muscle memory thing.
It's early days but they are impressive.
These boots feel like impenetrable armour when you've got them on. And boy do they take some getting on! The design is very snug making getting the boot on quite a challenge. However, if you loosen everything to the max, you will eventually get the boot on. That's when you realise how comfortable and protected you are with these boots. They take some wearing in, and there is a loss of sensitivity and dexterity in operating brake and gears. However, you get used to that and make the necessary allowances. Great boot. Bullet proof. Reminiscent of a ski boot in feel. Not for you if you want needle sharp dexterity in your foot controls.
I've used these boots for off and on road, worn them for over 12 hours a day and I don't have any complaints. Very comfortable, fit really well, kept my feet dry. I would recommend these boots to anyone
