Your skin is your biggest asset in terms of body temperature regulation. Wet skin doesn't breathe. Period. In winter, wet skin leads to hypothermia. This is because the surface moisture cools down and, in turn, rapidly brings down your body temperature along with it. While in summer, you start overheating as the moisture blocks the pores through which you breathe.
