Electrically heated jacket with motorcycle cable connection and free heat controller included
DetailsVerified Customer Reviews for Keis J501 Premium Heated Jacket
Very warm, infact, without the controller it would be too hot for all but the coldest of days. The jacket is a close fit but comfortable and unrestrictive on the bike. It also means I don't need two or three additional layers. Additional connectors for gloves and trousers come built in. Cables and connects look robust and are easy to use with gloved hands.
Used the jacket about 3 times and only once when I got the gloves.
If lasted one trip then the gloves would not work.
Took jacket back to you you then sent back to Keis rather than replace it
Eventually got a new one about 5 weeks later
Good job we are in lockdown
As is common with these jackets it's always best to order one size smaller than you think you will need. I did this and the jacket still felt loose on me.
As I had already installed the wiring on my bike SportsBikeShop were happy to send me out a complete new package for free, with a smaller size jacket including wiring etc the next day, have me put the original jacket in the new box and even had it collected free the day after.
Now that's what I call Customer Service.
The jacket is great by the way.
Sorry I can't tell you how good the jacket works due to lockdown. But here are so other points. The service & helpfulness of the sales team was fantastic, the jacket is very well made & fits perfectly, I'm a medium normally but purchased a small. 5 stars for service & quality.
Purchased for the colder months and used a couple of times now. Its a great alternative to bulking up with layers which aways seems to impede my head movement! It gets warm quickly and its easy to install the power supply from the bike. I used an adapter to connect to the installed battery conditioner cable to reduce connections to the battery and it works fine. I also bought a battery so I can use it with my other bike and the 5200mAh battery lasts about 1.5hrs on medium heat which gets me to work and back ok.
having already owning one when it came to getting my wife a replacement for her ageing no branded one had no second thoughts about buy another even on the coldest of days this jacket keeps the chills at bay. the only small point i would make is that it is a lose fit on the sleeves which tend to ride up slightly within the over jacket and if the outer jacket is of a tight fit could be uncomfortable.
my original one has done 3 seasons so far with no loss of performance and still looks as good as the day it was purchased.
Sono davvero soddisfatto della qualità della giacca e del comfort che regala durante le uscite in moto con circa 0°C
Usual 1st class service from SBS. I had a problem with connecting the gloves to the jacket and the after sales help was excellent as always. Couple of points worth noting .... if you are using gloves with the jacket then both ends of the controller need to be connected to the plugs in the small pocket in front of the jacket. Also if connected to the bike battery you need to turn on the gloves after the bike has been started .... they will switch off when the engine is started otherwise. Also these won't work off a din socket on a BMW...the canvas only allows a max of 5 amps to be drawn through the socket.
Great service as usual and the jacket already lives up to expectations. I've upgraded from a 1st generation Keis Gillet which has finally lost its oomph. This new jacket is thinner, snug and achieves a perfect, warm temperature at both low and medium. Not had the weather for Hot yet. The controlller is a must in my opinion.
As for sizing, everyones advice to go smaller is right. I am 5'4" tall with a 31" waist and a bit too chunky 40" chest. My arms are 19" shoulder to wrist. I normally take medium in tops (not large) and my go-to formal jacket size is 40 short or 42 short for a relaxed buttoned up fit.
I took a punt on a size XS which fits perfectly. Snug as I wanted it, comfortable over a thermal top and great under my jacket (with lining removed).
Highly recommended.
Bought this 2 weeks ago, gone are the wearing of multiple layers to keep warm on these chilly days, just a normal shirt, the heated jacket and my textile jacket. Despite riding in zero degrees the max I had to have it on was on the lower setting. Wired directly to battery so no issues keeping it going for a 6 hour bimble. Just got to get the gloves now, cannot wait
Warm and comfortable even before you switch it on. I have an Oxford mondial jacket XL and bought the medium based on recommendations from reviews to go down 1-2 sizes. Fits snuggly over a thin base layer. The thinner the better to get close contact with the elements. Removed the thermal layer from my jacket. No more michelin man. On the motorway in 6deg weather with the temp on high the heat is perfect. Fantastic product, seems well made. Love it.
Got too small a one, but rapidly replaced (excellent service) and its replacement fits well. Excellent constructions, comfortable, and fits well under my jacket over a single layer of a log sleeved 'T' shirt. Even the instructions are clear! Without connecting it up it kept me warm down to 4.5degrees. However I still haven't used it in anger and from all I've read and heard it will keep me toasty.
Difficult to fault this one.
I got a Small that I wear over a thermal top. Not tried medium or high yet. Low is plenty warm enough down to 4'c
Nice that the jacket had connectors for gloves and pants. I assume the power controller will handle all of these?
Tried connecting it through the bmw power socket thing, but that wouldn't supply 7amps, so I wired the supplied power lead to the battery with a 10a fuse.
I'm losing a bit of weight at the moment so I didn't want to spend £1k on some winter textiles which may not fit come the following year. As such, my Keis heated jacket is a god send, I have been wearing my ventilated mesh summer jacket (RST Ventilator 5) with the Keis and being perfectly warm in the November air. Once you try heated gear, you'll not go back.
A good looking, comfortable, thoughtfully-designed inner jacket that looks like an outer jacket. Woks with or without the heating controls as it's well-insulated. Worn it to go walking as well as for use on bike. The electrical connections are cleverly designed into the fabric and pockets of the jacket. I like the fact that it's both a smart fashionable jacket and a practical one.
This is a well designed and well made jacket and works really well, keeping chest back and arms nice and warm. I wear it over a thermal baselayer with the waterproof armoured shell jacket on top and, although there's been no frosty weather yet, I reckon it'll be more than adequate for all conditions. I wore it today on a high and windy route, temperature around 5C + wind chill, and used the medium setting for the first time. Low is usually enough. I bought size S on the advice of previous reviewers, even though my normal size is M/L, and the fit is snug but comfortable. It's well insulated and quite warm in its own right, even when switched off. It also looks good and will be ideal on touring trips when worn off the bike, and has plenty of useful pockets. Excellent value and a great addition to the bike wardrobe.
A well designed jacket. Arms are a good length and the fit is perfect for under your bike jacket. Just remember to size down from what you normally buy. Have only used the lowest setting so far but amazingly warm across the whole body, arms and neck. It's a wind blocker too, so even without the heat it is really effective. Easy to connect to your battery too.
Used twice, very impressed so far, looks well made.

Questions and Answers
I tried on size 58 in a store, what size is that? XXL? XXL? Thanks
February 20, 2020Size 58 equates to an XL as per our size guide
Will the heat controller supplied control the jacket & heated insoles simultaneously ?
January 18, 2020The J501 heat controller connected to the primary garment will only control the heat setting of the primary garment. Use an optional Inline Heat Controller to control the heat setting of any other additional connected garment, such as insoles.
Hello I am only 5 foot 4 inches tall but have big hips I normally take a 18 size top and 20 bottom is there a lady that understand my size and can help on what size in this jacket I should chose .Thank you .
December 5, 2019Hello there, The best way to go ahead with a good fit would be to measure your chest and compare the sizes in the size chart. The jackets are elasticated so most people choose a size smaller but if you feel like your hips are big, you could stick to the size you measure closest too.
When will you have the size 38 inch chest in stock of the Keis heated jacket?
April 27, 2019Unfortunately we will not have any further stock now until around September, apologies.
As pillion my arms get very cold even with many layers on. Can anyone tell me if the Keis J501 keeps the arms warm and what parts of the arms are covered by the elements? Any advise would be welcome!
March 26, 2019Hi, the J501 has heat panels on the chest, kidneys, arms and collar. The panels on the arms run from the top of the outside of the arm to just above the sleeve zip.
As I frequently travel with a pillion passenger can you connect/power two Keis J501 jackets from a single motorbike?
May 29, 2018We can see no reason why not - you would need to check that your charging system is capable of taking the draw of two jacket and any other accessories that you are running. The current draw of each jacket is 7A.
Does the Keis j501 jacket have the distribution system as the X25 jacket-for the Keis gloves ?
February 23, 2018The Keis vest is able to operate on its own or integrate (connect) with Keis heated trousers, gloves, or insoles, via convenient built-in power leads and/or sockets.
How does it connect? Cigarrette lighter type plug?
February 22, 2018The jacket comes with a motorcycle battery connection loom, if you wish to connect it to 12v socket you would need to purchase the Keis Accessory plug lead separately.
Why can't the power pack be used with this? Are there any full length sleeved jackets that it can be? I have multiple biked and would rather not be wired to them
January 10, 2018Unfortunately the J501 jacket would require too much draw from the battery pack. You would be able to use either the Keis V501 Premium Heated Vest or the Keis X10 Heated Body Warmer with the use of the battery pack but they are not full sleeved jackets.
