Oxford Heated Grips - Controller

This is the 3rd pair of heated Oxford grips I have bought from sportsbikeshop this last set came with a controller that didn't work. They replaced it immediately although it took Royal Mail over a week to deliver them. I am now 73 and have owned 97 motorcycles, the sportsbikeshop is my go to place to buy parts and clothing, their service is second to none. Highly recommend

Original unit (included with set of new grips) failed after a few months. But SBS immediately sent out this replacement after fault reported. Great to have some heat back. Top marks SBS.

Needed a replacement owing to the power lead touching the exhaust and melted the insulation, shorting out the device. Luckily this item includes a new power lead as well as the controller, although this is not mentioned in the blurb. Now fitted and works fine. It is good that Oxford supply parts rather than having to buy a whole kit again.

Very quick to turn on and warm up, really helps in winter months to still enjoy riding. I also use on a low temperature setting in spring/autumn when the wind still has a-bit of a chill. Really have helped improve enjoyment of riding, as getting cold hands breaks your concentration, but I don't have that issue anymore.

I bought heated grips, after a few months had problems. I contacted sportsbikeshop for advice and they sent a replacement controller out with in a couple of days, and this solved my problem. I am very pleased with the service, help and advice they give with out any hassle, they are very professional and can't do enough for you, it makes you feel more happy with the company, well done sportsbikeshop team.

Having bought the Adventure grips set, i noticed that one grip was heating more than the other, Sportsbikeshop kindly agreed to send out a new controller to replace the faulty one as the grips wrre already on the bike,
luckily this rectified the problem. All is now well just in time for the cold weather!

my original controller had stopped working but by fitting the controller only it saved the hassle of removing the grips and wires. Less than half the price of complete set up. Only took 20 minutes to fit it.

I need to start by saying how great these heated grips are!

They're easy to install (even for an incompetent nugget like me!), they warm, up quickly and I can't fault them! ..... then after a couple of months, the main controller failed, and was draining my battery in 2 days flat! Not what I bought them for obviously!

So, I contacted SportsBikeShop Customer Services and had a chat with them.

They sent me a pre-paid label to send the faulty ones back, and then shipped out a brand new controller next day.

The new one is perfect (I'm happy to report!), and the Customer service I received from the Sports Bile Shop team was second to none.

Genuinely couldn't be happier! :)

Have not yet installed this but its pretty simple direct replacement. The way I set up allows me to plug and play so no need to remove the fairings again.

What I can say is delivery was within 4 days to Ireland. Very quick service.

I have rated the product as good simply because it doesn't seem to work very well with lithium ion batteries as the intelligent feature doesn't realise the bike isn't running as the lithium ion voltage is higher then a standard battery. Stays on for quite a while before the intelligent feature turns it off at which point the battery can be quite low for lithium ion. Instead have wired it to run of the ignition through a relay which works well however occasionally blows the stock 5A fuse when run at 75-100% for a journey, so have since updated to 20A.

Great for the price, probably best around. Look good, keep your hands warm. Having heated grips is a life changer and a must!
