Verified Customer Reviews for Scorpion RP-1 GP Exhaust
A Devilish but Delicious and Delightful Pipe
31 August 2019 by James S
What does the product look and feel like?
The RP1 GP Titanium is a finely engineered product. The careful craftsmanship is evident from the welds, fittings and finish of the product.
Can I fit myself?
Yes definitely. Easy to fit with all components and minimal effort. The hardest part would be removing the existing can (with CAT) on the Street. My 765RS had a cheap sh*tty straight through pipe on it for some reason. So I didn't have to mess around with the original exhaust.
Is it tooooo LOUD?
It is advertised as not street legal.
However the sh*tty can that was on my bike originally was louder. I never got pulled with that and this exhaust whilst improving the sound isn't as barky (woof woof).
Soo I wouldn't worry about getting pulled by the noise police. Plus they can't be arsed with the paperwork anyhoo. Hahaha.
Does it add 2.5hp and is it noticeable?
They've Dyno ran her and there's a result chart showing the 2.5hp increase. My bike is definitely breathing better with smoother throttle response - New Striple is fuel injected so there's a lag as is (cheers euro 4).
Does it look good?
Damn straight - especially after the cheap ugly one I had on it. Original exhaust is heavy and fuggly with that CAT.
My bike is metallic black and needed more accents to it so that's why I went for the titanium sleeve, well that and the fact that they don't rust and won't chip and crack like carbon will.
Is this the best exhaust I can get?
You can buy the Akrapovic which adds 4.5hp and comes as a straight through or with a CAT chamber. £200 more I think at £750. I'm not sure if both versions of the pipe add the 4.5hp so you'd have to do some research ya selves u lazy buggers. Hahaha
Buy this pipe its mint - British made like your bike (Okay engines from Thailand).
What's next? Do I go for a remap?
The pipe is made specifically for the stock tune on the engine.... And a full retune would really want the matching titanium headers.....
Don't tell the wife, but for scientific endeavour I might just test them waters. Hahaha
Safe riding
