Pyramid Hugger Extension Matte Black - Yamaha MT-07 (14-17)

The Pyramid higher extension is great value. Although not listed on SBS site as suitable for the XSR700 , it is the correct one for that bike as well. The moulding is not perfect but you can't notice unless looking for it. I used the push rivets to assist the double sided tape pads. Much quicker than waiting for the pads to cure. I did use some ultra fine wet and dry paper on the rivet heads as didn't like the shiny finish.

Purchased this because a friend has one and it does a good job of keeping spray and muck/stones off his rear shock. Unfortunately I have a 2018 MT-07 chain guard and this model (Pyramid code 072437) only fits 14-17 MTs. Pyramid have released a new version for the 2018 and newer MTs. Contacted Sportsbikeshop about getting this refunded and they're currently looking into getting the 2018 version (Pyramid code 072441) from Pyramid. Great customer service.

If you have a 2014-17 MT-07, this is a good cheap bit of kit that does the job and I'd recommend buying it instead of spending stupid money on a new hugger.

If you have a 2018 or newer MT, this won't fit fully flush on your guard so I wouldn't recommend purchasing it unless you need one in a hurry for a trip-etc

First of all, top service as usual from SBS!.
Hugger extension arrived without the sticker pads so SBS contacted Pyramid who sent me some through and they arrived three days later.
Having got the pads, installation could begin. The extension fitted my hugger resonably well although there were a few gaps. With the pads on, the gaps were larger. It was difficult to line up once ready to stick and was a once only shot.
Now that it's on it looks ok and it does help keep crud out. Not convinced it is better than a new hugger but, it is cheaper!
