Pros:
- Having the pivot at the base allows for good adjustability
- Allows a good view directly behind rider

Cons:
- A little fiddley to position correctly when installing
- Round shape limits the lateral field of view meaning much bigger blind spots.

I bought a pair of these to replace a set of oxford diamond pro mirrors, as the oxford set had the ball joint at the head of the arm integrated into the mirror itself. This meant that there was little room for vertical adjustment, and I was left with an insufficient view down the road behind me as the mirrors were pointed too far downwards.

In that respect these mirrors solved that problem nicely, as having the ball joint positioned at the base of the mirror arm allows a good deal of vertical adjustment, at the cost of having to roughly set the lateral adjustment when installing the mirror into the handle bars.

There is a clearance gap between the mirror arm and the slot in the mount it sits in whilst folded out. This does allow for some small movements to adjust the mirror position after everything is installed, but when travelling at speed the wind resistance on the mirror is more than strong enough to overcome the stiffness of the ball joint and in practice the mirror arm will be pushed as far back against this clearance gap as it can.

The only major downside to these mirrors is the limited field of view. I knew that a round mirror wouldn't compare favourably against oval shaped one, but these really are limited. Having positioned them to provide a decent view behind me, I am unable to see traffic in a neighbouring lane for quite a ways back. Being used to having at least a partial view into the next lane, this did take some adjustment to get familiar with, but ultimately only requires you to be even more diligent with your shoulder checks.


Overall these are (so far) the best option I've found if you need a reasonably priced folding mirror.
