Nolan N40-5 GT N-Com - Classic Metal White

I bought this helmet after much research. I own a Harley Davidson Road Glide, a Triumph Sprint st1050 and a BMW gs1150 and this helmet can attach and detach bits to suit any of my bikes. It's also very comfortable. I'm no speed demon anymore but enjoy touring the Cornish coast or Scotland trips and this is perfect.

Really comfortable and good fit. I have come from a similar LS2 helmet. When I remove the chin bar the actual helmet springs out fractionally and consequently a loser fit but still great. I bought it to be able to ride with open face but actually because visibility is so good it feels like open face with chin bar in.

Early days yet but first half dozen wears and I'm pleased so far. The aperture is big and really does give great vision. Definitely no impression of viewing through a letterbox with this helmet! The removable chin bar gives great flexibility and the air vents are effective. It feels reasonably light, quiet and is very comfortable. Regardless of make and model, every helmet I have owned has been size small. I purchased size small here and have to say "out of the box" it has been the most comfortable helmet I have ever owned. Along with sportsbike shops great price, quick delivery and service, what's not to love? I'm very happy with my purchase!

I'm very disappointed with this helmet, I bought it because I thought Nolan made good helmets, how wrong I was. The main problem is the liner digs into the top of your ear. You don't notice at first, but after about an hour it becomes extremely painful. The helmet sizes also run small. The helmet is poor quality, and feels cheaply made. The sun visor lever feels like it will break anytime soon. The ventilation is non-existent, so you sweat like a pig! I had to buy another helmet it was that bad, I bought a Scorpion Carbon which is much better quality, in fact - miles better - and it fits properly! I've had to take the detachable chin off to make it more comfortable to wear. It's that bad I only wear it to go to the shops, it was a total waste of money.

Extremely versatile with lots of options for different weather/riding conditions. Very comfortable and snug fit. Really nice quality. Made for N-com integrated headset which fits perfectly. Great speedy delivery and no quibbles service from SportsBike Shop. Would highly recommend! I'm now buying one for my partner.

Very nice helmet, with lots of different options regards wearing. Seems bulkier, but not heavier than my previous AGV, but that was 25 years old! Fair bit of wind noise, but I didn't have earplugs in like I usually do - Also, chin guard was off and sunshade installed. Lining a bit fiddly getting back in, and adjustment fittings seems a bit light weight - I hope they stand up to wear. However, very happy with helmet overall, including with speed of delivery. Would recommend.

I took loads of time researching this helmet and other jet styles and eventually took the decision to buy it from SportsbikeShop as they had great reviews too.
This is the most comfortable helmet I have yet worn. I forget it's on after a while and dont feel as sence of relief when I take it off. That feeling is supported by the incredible view all around and fit. As for wind noise - I have been wearing an open face with goggles for years and this helmet has removed all the disturbance around my eyes with the visor down. There is some wind noise, for me, at the bottom of the shield but nothing like wearing only goggles. At this stage I cannot comment on the chin guard as I have only worn the helmet when riding with just the face shield. I can say that it attaches and detaches with solid feeling ease and the detachable net chin extension feels comfortable. I have no doubt that by attaching the chin guard will make this helmet even quieter.

So in summary - well done Nolan and a special thumbs up to Sportsshop Direct for their rapid despatch and delivery time, which was quicker than originally quoted.

I like the flexibility of being open faced in nice weather with the chin bar being an option in rainy or winter conditions.

Quality of this helmet is better than expected. Fit is spot on and helmet versatility is impressive. Ability to wear as full face or jet style means I only need one helmet now

Haven't had a Nolan helmet for years, forgotten how well they fit! This could end up being my 'go to' helmet, excellent visibility, chin guard is easy to remove and fit, aerodynamics are really good and have cut down wind buffeting by a good 60%! Add to this Sportsbikeshop's excellent service, couldn't have wished for better!

Nice light helmet with fantastic wide visor. The peak seems to be OK at speed and doesn't catch the wind. There is a slight amount of wistle when I turn my head at speed but since I always wear ear plugs it isn't an issue. The removable chin piece is excellent. I have taken it off to buy petrol but it's a bit difficult to slot it back in place when you're still wearing the helmet. I'm sure I'll get better at it.

Have tried this helmet in most weather now but not yet on motorway. Have used with and without chin bar. I was amazed how quiet it was in all modes even with the peak on, which has been surprisingly useful with the sun being low at this time of year. Surprisingly lightweight and I like the diversity of it, ride classic bike with open face and newer bike full face, range of vision is amazing. Previous helmet was Caberg duke flip front. Had a bit of a glitch with first helmet in that the rainstrip kept pulling off and had problem with pinlock but as usual Sportsbikeshop on case and very prompt in replacing and have been happy with purchase.

I chose this helmet because it gave me the large field of vision normally associated with my usual Open Face + the protection of the chin bar.

Pop the chin piece out and stick the lid right on your head with glasses on sweet as! Main reason why I got this helmet. It is comfy and fits very well. Good field of vision. Took the plastic flap off as the drop down dark visor does the job perfectly, no need for an extra flap. I will get the white one for better vis for drivers and the black carbon fibre Great value.

My second Nolan N40-5Gt, replaced due to crash . Front wheel of SUV ripped off visor and peak, but failed to crush helmet. Saved my head. Always liked these helmets, sun visor excellent during low winter sun, coupled with wide visor offering excellent peripheral vision. Ventilation good too.
