Thermal wind block base layer trousers with stretch fit and fatigue reducing compression
DetailsVerified Customer Reviews for RST Thermal Wind Block Pants
Customers found the trousers to be excellent at blocking wind and keeping warm. Most reviewers praised the fit, comfort, and quality of the material, with some noting they wore them under various types of riding gear. There were occasional comments about tightness around the ankles, suggesting sizing up might be wise. Rubber waist and ankle bands were appreciated for keeping the trousers in place. Overall, they were considered great value for money and highly recommended for cold weather riding.
The quality and feel of the product are excellent, and it's really comfortable.
I usually wear a size large, but I had to go for a 2XL for the top and an XL for the bottoms.
However, I don't think the set is worth £100. I used to wear regular cotton thermals under my Oxford bike jeans, which are slightly thicker than typical jeans. The RST Thermal Wind Block Pants provide better protection against the wind and cold (I used them in 2°C). Still, I wasn't particularly impressed with them, especially considering they cost £50.
These pants would definitely be more effective under thicker trousers. I expected them to perform better than what I was previously using.
I'm 170 cm tall (5'7') M size is good fit for me. It worked great even when the weather was 0 degrees with rider denim for 2 hours of riding.
Does exactly what they say super warm and comfy great quality and good value
I love these, really comfy and as soon as you put them on you know they're going to do the job, and they do. I use them under my Dianese summer touring trousers, which are great but not the warmest if I'm on the bike over winter, my legs were nice and toasty,
Not sure they'd fit under my biking jeans due to the thickness, which is standard for a mid layer garment like this.
They feel really well made and it's a quality item, as you'd expect from RST.
I've tried a few thermals and these trousers are by far the best, stops the wind chill and keeps you warm. The quality of the RST products are always really good, so I'm happy with my purchase.
Works very well at blocking the wind, with a fleece type of inner lining keeping you warm too. I've a long leg, 33" , so was a bit worried I'd need to go up a size (M to L) to ensure proper coverage. Found this wasn't necessary, although if you have long legs and wear shoes as opposed to boots it could be a problem. Some have mentioned the ankles are tight fitting, but maybe they have addressed this as I have no issue with it. The only downside is the cut is just a bit odd, again something people have mentioned. Mainly body hugging, but looser in places. Not a real breaker, and it doesn't later the effectiveness of the product.
Good fit and does a decent job of blocking the wind.
Recent ride was 7/ 8 degrees for an hour at motorway speeds, in these and riding jeans trousers done well, got cold near the end of the ride but probably because my hands and arms were very cold
Have been using these in 5 degrees and under weather with just a pair of biking jeans on top and they keep my legs nice and warm. Definitely the best pair of wind proof thermals I have had. However they are fairly tight around the ankles so may be worth getting a size up - this doesn't bother me though as stops them from slipping when putting boots on.
Bought these to wear under jeans. Tried out on a sub 10 degrees ride and they kept the wind off and kept me warm. Really pleased with them.
Very pleased with these, comfortable to wear, keeping my legs warm, the rubberised waste band helps them stay in place.
I wear them under jeans and they noticeably reduce the wind, but don't block it. Fitting is strange, disproportionally tight around the ankle, so to get a size that was comfortable for me it's a baggy fit. Not an issue for under jeans, but under leathers I'd expect you'd want something more skin tight. Good value.
Decently wind proof but not wholly so. Not the nicest of materials but comfortable enough. Could still feel the cold a little at 9C under riding jeans on a naked bike. I'm 6'2" and have a 32" waist and the mediums fit well with boots on.
Excellent. Tested them out on a night ride and kept me toasty warm. I'm 5'11" and 95kg and went large - perfect fit.
Deligthed with the purchase via Sportbikeshop. The pants are good quality and keep you warm in the cold Irish weather. If you feel cold in your leathers than you should defo go for them as you won't regrete it. Also, these are priced well!
They are good as wind blockers, haven't tried in cold weather yet. I used to ride in fleece and this one makes a difference. Fitting is strange though.
Bought these in Birmingham SBS. Lady was very helpful and amazing service. She was actually asking questions to find out what I need.
Tighter fitting around lower leg, slightly looser up top, fit great under my Klim badlands trousers and also fit under my RST jeans, ideal base layer great price, fit is true to size.
First ride in the RST Thermal Wind Block Pants
I was in a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius and I was wearing a leather suit. I was impressed that even at 100mph I didn't feel that cold air. The whole set fits perfectly, it is very comfortable even under a well-fitting leather suit. Of course, I recommend that the entire RST THERMAL WIND BLOCK set be well-fitting to the body to avoid discomfort while driving.
The quality of the material is 5*, the workmanship is 5* and the price for everything is very low. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase
