Picked these for my V-Strom 1000 '18 to attach the Givvi trekker dolomiti panniers to.

The instructions are pretty clear, but the actual fitment isn't great. You have to widen 4 of the screw holes in the plastic under your tail to accommodate the spacers, it says in the instructions that these must be drilled. I tried without and it just won't screw together properly, so begrudging I took a drill to my bike. Once I had done that, the racks lock in really well. The only trouble I had was with the nearside rack, which proved a real squeeze to get it to line up with the relevant mounting hole. Still don't know why, but this took a couple hours to sort. The Panniers sit on them at the bottom fine, but the monkey system scrapes against the tubular rack as you turn the key to lock it into place. It physically digs into the metal, and cannot be locked. I installed my own spacer on the bolt to give it the extra clearance it needed - which I was not expecting to do given the total cost of this and the Dolomiti cases is around £500 and 'bike specific'. Worth it once installed and solid as a rock, just be prepared to set aside a couple hours and have a drill bit to the required size (14mm from memory).

Fit was excellent, didn't have to force anything to fit. I had read on some Vstrom Forums that the mounting bracket screw instructions were incorrect. But I followed the Givi instructions to the letter and everything fitted correctly. If I have one criticism, it's that they are over-engineered for me as I don't want to remove the pannier rails and so they could have been non-detachable and cheaper!
