Alpinestars Ride Tech Long Sleeve Winter Top - Black / Grey

I bought this - at relative high price - specifically because it stated it was designed for Winter. I dont think it is. This protects from cold no better than £30 Amazon thermal vests in reality - despite costing nearly 3 times as much. I wore the vest under a textile jacket with thermal linings and in temperature of around 11C felt uncomfortably cold after 1 hour at speeds of over 50 mph. I wore again with additional rugby shirt over the vest in similar conditions and became uncomfortably cold after 1.5 hours. I cant comment on the wicking as I dont sweat much in winter! I think this is more an insulated vest to keep your temperature constant (in normal conditions). Unfortunately the 'constant' temperature feels slightly below body temperature so you feel cool even when first starting out. For winter you want something that generates warmth surely? I give it 3 stars based on the cost and description as a 'Winter' specific wear. I would have returned it but had obviously worn it.

This is the second one I have bought . Got mine last year this year one for the wife . I think they work fine.

Took advice from Ride review and bought these, I was not disappointed

Not had thermals before, went for Alpinestars to keep with the leather make I had and once again did not disappoint. Worth every penny indeed. I can now ride earlier than I would normally.

Fits well, excellent quality, does what it says, warm and cosy all day long.
