Well made rack

I'll start with price. This is a basic lump of metal. It should be £20. That's it.

At the high price for what it is, it should be flawless. It is not.

Rather than been made to the correct size, it actually does not fit the box and requires asymmetrical plastic washers to raise it high enough off the box. The feet should just be the correct size in the first place.

The fittings are ok but the bolts are a bit soft. In one of the legs, the threads are incomplete and therefore cannot accept the full length of the bolt. Since I'm not a machinist, I can't correct this flaw. Instead, I will need to add additional washers or reduce the length of the bolt.

Since this requires holes drilling in the lid of the box, I expect it to come with fixings that will prevent water ingress. The plastic washers that come with this are really small. I highly doubt they will succeed and I fully expect water ingress. I will probably have to replace these washers with larger rubber ones with more substance. Or maybe a bead of silicone will do.

I can't comment on the finish since I've only had it on for about 50miles. Time will tell.

As for purpose, the product does what it is supposed to do. But for the quality of the fixings, and the fault, and the fact it's simply a lump of metal, it is way overpriced. Givi has us by the b*lls on this.

If it were £40 and was flawless, I'd give it 5*. But at nearly £70 and imperfect in multiple ways, it gets 3* and "rip-off" rating. Givi has us by the danglies on these products.

Well made and looks great on the top box

The quality of this product is typical GIVI and excellent. All the fitting parts were correct, and the fitting instructions pretty good. You have to cut out and apply templates to show you where to drill the 4 support holes. The reason that I give this 4/5 is this can be fiddly to get precisely correct, and the best 'tip' I can give is to accurately measure the distances in between these 4 holes, in both directions and diagonally. Then check these are the same when you drill.

A Rack on top of an already large box may seem unnecessary, but it's invaluable for some items. Have even carried a couple of rolls of wallpaper on it! The 'light kit' also an excellent addition.

Bought to give that extra room while traveling for a few days. The box is already heavy, this just adds to it. It did come in handy but think long and hard before you purchase. It really is a fiddly thing to fix. The instructions aren't that good and in the end I used common sense. I had to add a few rubber watershed to the front to tighten it up. On reflection, the box is huge anyway so for me it did Viber in handy but unless you really are looking for that extra space, I wouldn't bother. Solid product, well constructed.

Great rack for extra storage

The rack itself is fine quite heavy for what it is.

Instructions could be clearer, particularly in the drill bit size needed.
Took about 20 minutes to fit and looks great.

Small price for extra room

This item like most Givi products is well made and of really good quality. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, especially with the templates supplied as drilling holes into your beloved top box can be daunting for anyone. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for extra luggage space.

Bought as needed to secure my tent onto my top box for a camping weekend
Sturdy metal rack That's good quality and looks good too.
Relatively easy to fit with templates supplied and only needs the appropriate drill bits, and Allen key ( not supplied)
Only negative point I had was lining up of the bolts, where a spare set of hands would have helped.

Take the time to get the templates right before drilling for the bolt holes. Once fitted the extra space it creates is invaluable. The quality is excellent as Givi always is. I recommend this product.
