Kriega US Hook Straps

I have a few Kriega bags already and needed a some extra straps for spare and to increase the ability to secure other items when touring on my bike.
The straps are well made and robust and a good length to provide cinching down easy. They are about the best on the market hence buying again.

I bought a Kriega US 10 in 2010, and unfortunately lost one of the clips, so chose to spend a bit more and buy these quick release hook straps rather than buy a replacement clip.

First, a plug for Kriega generally, my US 10 is still going strong and is in almost the same condition as when I bought it (albeit less clean). At the time I was dubious about spending so much on something just to keep some commuting bits in, but they are proper quality pieces of kit.

Second, the actual straps are great. On the one hand, yes, they are just straps with some clips and slotted metal, but they are brilliantly designed. Like so many good designs they make it all look so obviously simple.

The QR slot is metal so it is smooth, stiff, and strong and always easy to attach. There are nice touches like the strap tidies. The female straps to go under the seat have plenty of length so should work with almost all set ups. There are subtle white dots on the female hoops, which make them easy to find - it's all these little things that add up and make the £20-odd well worth paying rather than going the DIY route.

I can't really think of a single negative.Even the price seems fair all things considered. You may find the female straps a bit long, but if it's an issue they could be cut down - I just folded them neatly and cable-tied them.
