They note that it provides excellent airflow, making it manageable even in hot weather. While it's a bit bulky, it offers a snug, reassuring feel. The size guide is reliable, though some faced minor sizing issues. Overall, customers feel safe and confident with its protection, barely noticing it during rides, and highly recommend it.
Very comfortable I am 6ft and went for 7 plate. Fitted well under full set of leathers and was perfect no issues
I'm 180cm tall originally got the 8 plate but changed for 7plate 8 plate probably right size but was sitting low below my Rst leather jacket 7 plate works as I can connect jacket to jeans without it riding up and still fits low enough to protect my back really quality product well made it's abit bulky but it's very comfortable when out riding don't really notice it offers great protection would not ride without it also I've got the optional chest protection for added protection my opinion is a great quality product hope I never need it but piece of mind to help protect my back .
Good for, I'm 6ft 2in and went for the 8 plate race option with kidney armour as well.
Easy to adjust, robust finish with the usual Knox innovation. And coupled with the chest armour provides great protection.
Very comfortable to wear, move well with the back, keeps cool on a hot day and it sits nice under my leathers. Highly recommended this product. Like shape I have 6 plate I'm 5'4 tall fits good covers areas needed well
Thankfully I havent tested the protection aspect of it yet, however, it's super comfy. It's a lot more comfy than those back inserts you buy for jackets.
I'm 180cm and bought the number 8 race and it fits perfectly inside my leather suit.
The Knox Aegis Back Protector (race) is very comfortable and fits well. So far seems very secure while not restricting movement. Not had to rely on it but feels up to the job.
Size guide was accurate. I'm 6'5" and bought the 9 plate version. Impressed by the level of comfort - even on a hot day. Was concerned it wouldn't fit under my leather jacket, but had no issues. Feels like you are being hugged from behind! Wouldn't ride without it now.
Fits well, very very comfortable - almost forget you're wearing it. A great buy that I hope will never do what it's designed for! SBS as always 5* service and response. Thanks.
I usually wear a Helite Air Vest, but the recent hot weather has exposed it's limitations in allowing air to flow through a mesh jacket. This back protector and the chest protector upgrade were bought to overcome this, whilst still offering good protection.
Good: airflow is good for a full length, wrap around, protector. Your back does get warm, but less than expected. You do lose the sense of wearing it very quickly. A substantial piece of kit, which does provide confidence.
Not so good: The 8-plate race is fractionally too long. I'm 6' and ride adventure style bikes. The lower edge of the protector can rest on the pillion seat, especially if the seat is raised above the riders. This can limit your ability to shuffle around your seat during a long riding day. This was more evident on a Ducati MS V4 than a Triumph Tiger Sport.
In summary, good kit but be careful of the length.
I'm 6'2" and went with the 8 plate racing which is a perfect fit. When you're trying it on, don't tighten the straps too much or it'll ride up your back. There's a fair bit adjustment available to play around with. Under the leathers it's comfortable and moulds fairly quickly, feels and looks really well made. There's also armour to place over your kidneys on the waistband too. I got this for trackdays but can see myself using it on the road too, can't be too careful.
I looked at loads of reviews of back protectors before going for the Knox. It's certainly a sturdy piece of kit but once on the bike I hardly felt it. Really comfy and light. We'll pleased.
Really comfortable, only used a few times up to now, feels very protective. Take a little to get used to but wouldn't ride without it now.
Its large and comfortable. I am 175 cm long and ordered the 8 plate and that's the right size for me. The waist band can be adjusted for height. I had some problem to take it of for adjustment as I was afraid to damage it. Asked Knox own chat service for advise and was told I could use more force and it worked. They claim this part has been stress tested so I just have to believe them. Used it a few times already (its December) and I am happy with it. Seems very safe.
I've had this for a few weeks now and wish I had it sooner! It takes a couple of rides for it to feel comfortable, but now I don't notice it and wouldn't ride without one. I'm 6" and I've got the 8 which fits perfectly. Can't really go wrong with knox armour!
This is a solid, chunky piece of kit with large Velcro straps that fasten around your belly and have the added benefit of acting like a corset to hold back some of the middle-age-spread!
Yet it's also surprisingly comfortable and well ventilated so I didn't get overly sweaty during the uk's recent hot and sunny spell.
But the best part about wearing this back protector is the feeling that you're covered should the worst happen; great peace of mind.
Lightweight and surprisingly comfortable, barely aware that I am wearing it and it's very reassuring too. Recommended.
Good quality and comfy fit
Very comfortable to wear, you forget it's there almost immediately, I hope I never have to test it though, money well spent, SBS 5 star too.
