I've had an Optimate charger for 'donkeys years' but for some reason lost the spare direct to battery charge lead. Thankfully they are still available and this saved me having to invest in a new charger.

Well worth the money. Good quality and never had any issues. What I will say is that the newer connections are a step up and look and feel more substantial although I have never had a problem with the earlier ones

My ancient Optimate charger uses these old-style plugs but still works well. It's great that Optimate still has such loyalty to users of its old products that it continue to offer these accessories.

I bought this to fit with my 2010-ish Optimate 4 charger and my new bike.
The leads feel good quality, not thin and flimsy like I've seen on some new chargers.

Needed something small and lightweight for when I go touring without cluttering up my handlebars and this fit the bill. Easy to attach to an existing point on my bike and to pop into my saddlebag when not needed. Perfect!

January 31, 2017The TM-78 weatherproof DIN accessory socket is designed to be panel-mounted on a vehicle to provide an external charging point and power outlet socket. It is the same format as is used on some Triumph, BMW and Honda motorcycles. In addition to providing a weatherproof connection point for your pre-2012 OptiMate charger using an optional accessory plug lead, it also provides a power outlet socket for other accessories - e.g. mobile phones, tyre pumps, portable CD players, notebook PCs, GPS navigation units, camping lights, etc. It is of particular use for scooters with sealed battery compartments and any vehicles where use of the standard fused permanent lead is not practical. This lead simply plugs into to the 2-pin TM connector on the TM71 permanent eyelet lead supplied with AccuMate and OptiMate (TM versions). Compatible with the round 12V DIN plug on TM72 and TM95 accessory plug leads. If your OptiMate or accessory has the black SAE compatible OptiMate connector, you need O-8 (SAE78)
Weatherproof fused eyelet lead TM71, will this fit the "old" OptiMate II chargers ?
