Forcefield EX-K Harness Flite - Chest & Back

First thing to sort - the sizing.

I am a 5'11", 39" chest male - I tried to follow the sizing link on the product page but kept getting a 404 message, so I went to the Forcefield site and found the size guide there. Spoiler alert - it was useless!

This is where I find SBS so helpful - I can order a couple of sizes to get the right fit, then return the one that doesn't fit without any hassle.

It turned out the medium was a good snug fit, so that was the one I kept.

Going back to the title - I have 2 bikes, a Honda 50 cub and a Honda crf250L. Neither of these will set the road alight, but at my more senior years, I don't bounce too good, so along with the usual body armour, the addition of chest organs and spine protection gives me greater peace of mind. When I get in my car I have airbags, belts and a steel cage. On my bikes, nothing. So yes, this is an expensive item, but if ever used in anger, it could be the best bargain ever!

I wear mine under my medium Oxford Oslo jacket - it is not intrusive and I forget it is there when riding. It also encourages me to sit more upright on the bike, something my trainer told me I had to do.

The harness has a simple zip on the front plus a velcro strap at the waist - seconds to put on, job done!

One final plus point - the protection is CE2, most of the armour gear on this site will tend to be the cheaper and less effective CE1, understandably so.

A hard buying decision due to cost, but a Black Friday 20% reduction was too good to miss. Well done again, SBS!

What more to wish..

I have owned a Forcefield back protector for over 10 years and thought it was about time I replaced it with an upgrade. I have been so impressed with the previous one (which is still in good condition) that I came straight back to the Forcefield range. I wasn't sure about going for the full back and chest protector, but thought as the last one had lasted so well it was a decent investment. It fits really well and surprisingly doesn't bulk you up too much (gives the look of decent pec's under my jacket to compensate for the belly).

It shields your upper torso to roughly the bottom of the sternum. So it wouldn't prevent damage to the lower section, but this is designed to protect vital area's (lungs etc) while allowing freedom of movement around the mid-section.

Obviously these items are hard to give reviews of actual use because you really don't want to be truly testing them out, but from a build quality and fit perspective I'm really impressed and would highly recommend to someone wanting a little extra protection than just a back protector alone.
