Shoei CNS-2 Pinlock Ready Race Visor - Not Road Legal

This visor is excellent, genuine Shoei Dark Visor, Its not too dark which is good and gives clear vision. Easy to change on my Shoei Hornet Adventure Helmet.

Only covered 300 odd miles with this visor, but so far I'm happy with it. It's not as dark as I expected, as the tinted visor on my Shoei X Spirit 3 is a fair bit darker, but this has been fine on a sunny day when the sun is low in late summer. I was also able to ride home after a night shift when it was still dark but the sun was rising, which I couldn't do with my old lid as that was too dark. This is a big bonus as it saves me having to swap them over. I also bought a spare pinlock and no issues with fogging so far.
Definitely recommend this if you have a Shoei Hornet ADV lid.

The visor doesn't seem to be that dark a tint when you see it. When it's being worn though it is excellent at removing all the glare associated with bright sunlight. May in part be due to the peak on the helmet but it works which is the important thing.

The visor is Shoei usual quality not to dark easy to fit sports bike shop were spot on

Silver mirror visor with great optical clarity and fit.
Tint is fairly light meaning it's a day long wear.
Great at stopping sun and glare.

Easy to fit once you figure out to open visor fully, then push up the little buttons that are exposed, this pops out that part of the visor, then pull gently away from the helmet outwards to remove the rest of the securing lugs from the channel it sits in.


It's a lighter tent than expected, more like a medium, can't see why this wouldn't be legal? No different t I'm wearing sunglasses.

Just about dark enough, and very good quality.
Combined with the Shoei ADV, it makes you look like a combination of a Stormtrooper and The Scream

I'm blown away by just how good this visor is. The reduction in glare is lovely and the optics are first class. No one is building helmets like shoei right now.

I bought this visor to replace my sunglasses as they tend to be uncomfortable and I feel a dark visor is safer on the road as I can flip it up if I need to. So with this in mind I would say (legality aside) the visor is much better, it is slightly lighter than I would like but much darker than either a light smoke, silver or flip down, all of which I have tried. Its not quite as dark as the sunglasses but much better overall. Build wise it is exactly the same quality as the standard clear visor. I didn't go for a Pinlock insert and there is slight fogging at stop lights, rectified easily by cracking open the visor by 1 notch, or just remove the chin curtain before setting off as this stops any fogging completely. So overall 4/5 but thoroughly recommended.
