The Alpinestars' Tech-Air® 3 Canvas Airbag System is designed to be worn over a motorcycle jacket but can be worn under the jacket as well, providing effective and practical protection for V-Twin riders, touring riders, urban city commuters and weekend warriors who want to ride protected. Alpinestars' crash detection triggering algorithm has been developed and refined with millions of kilometres of riding data and thousands of crashes; allowing the system to accurately assess when to deploy the airbag ahead of an impact or other dangerous situations, like a lowside or highside crash.
In the event the Tech-Air® 3 detects the start of a crash, the system will inflate the protective airbag in milliseconds, reducing up to 95% of the impact energy transferred to the rider anywhere the airbag protects, which includes the full chest and back. In the event of a direct impact of the rider with another vehicle or obstacle, the Tech-Air® system, is effective for the "first impact!", which means that the system inflates before the rider comes into contact with the vehicle or obstacle.
Additionally featuring a main chassis constructed of stretch nylon canvas, and waterproof ECU and electronics, the slim, self-contained System can be worn under a motorcycle jacket, including an Alpinestars' Tech-Air® Ready jacket, or any leather or textile jacket, providing that the jacket has sufficient space to accommodate the inflation of the airbag.

- Fully self-contained system which doesn't require any external connections or sensors for the system to operate
- 6 integrated sensors (3 accelerometers, 2 gyroscopes or 1 tri-axial gyroscope and 1 tr-axial accelerometer
- LED display partially hidden inside the left chest continuously indicates the airbag's operational status
- Haptic alert incorporated within the LED display which vibrates to confirm the system is active and low battery warning
- The gas inflator housing, electronic wiring, and the airbag are easy removable
- Gas inflator located on the left side of the lower back of the rider
- Gas inflator canisters can be replaced by select Alpinestars dealers and certified Tech-Air® Service centres
- Bluetooth low energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity with the Tech-Air® App shows the systems' status, battery status and riding data
