I reviewed all of the available exhausts for looks and sound. I wanted a much louder exhaust than original and keeping to the original lines of the Yamaha design team. Very pleased. It fits my gen 2 even though it's made for gen 1. It pops and bangs ! Super easy to fit.

Very easy to fit and step by step instructions which are very clear. It has totally transformed the MT 09 with going from sounding like a sowing machine to an amazing sound. Should have done it years ago.

I was a little apprehensive about buying this exhaust as it's not the cheapest but as soon as it was started up it just sounds amazing also you can feel the power gain little and it's very easy to fit and only took about 30 minutes the only thing I would recommended is if you're removing the baffle to do it before you fit the exhaust as it's not the easiest to remove as mine really stuck in

What a amazing exhaust. The sound is perfect with the baffle out, never tried it with the baffle in. It really matches my bike which is grey with yellow wheels. I installed it myself, only took 30 mins max, stock exhaust is soo much heavier. The exhaust pops and crackles. I have found that it helps keep my engine cooler that before. You can tell this is a quality exhaust, you get what you pay for. I'm very pleased with my purchase, thanks sports bike shop :-)

Quality fit and finish

I waited a few months to review this to see how good the finish was. Not disappointed it's great. Fitting was excellent, very accurate engineering. Unlike some systems I've fitted. And it sounds great without being obnoxious.

February 16, 2019If you scroll down to option 3, this is the optional catalytic converter for the full stainless system. You do not need to remap, but we would always recommend for the best results.

November 26, 2018Remapping is not necessary however it help get the best performance out of your exhaust. It would be best to speak to a tuning centre to see if they can dial out any pops or bangs.

Question regarding Akrapovic hexagon . Is the catalytic included in the stated prices at 799 GBP? Is everything included in the kit like springs, bolts, nuts and stuff like that? I have a mt09 2014 and assume it will fit as well. Thanks for your answer. BR Johan
February 2, 2017Though cans are E marked and are legal regarding noise, the complete systems do not include a catalytic converter and are therefore not road legal. The stainless Steel system can be made road legal with the use of the optional catalytic converter, but the race system cannot. You get everything you need to fit the exhaust to your exhaust, and these will fit the 2014 model.
