Shoei CNS-1 Pinlock Ready Race Visor - Not Road Legal

Bought for the wife who always rides pillion and she's very happy with the dark visor in sunshine for her sensitive eye problem.

As a pillion I wear this visor in all weather conditions. Having the need to protect my face from direct sunlight (having had a mole removed off my nose) this visor suits me. It is clear enough to see in dull conditions as well as not squinting in bright sunshine.

Looks pretty good on my GT-Air Qubit, and helps dim the glare enough from the sun. I still use the internal drop down visor though when it's very sunny.

I've ridden with it at 8-9pm, when it's dusk and it's just about okay enough for getting you home. Wouldn't recommend it at night though.

My second of these are I scratched up my first. Kinda fiddly to get on but great once you manage. Lovely rainbow mirror effect.

Can't see why it's not road legal as the tint is perfect for both sunny rides and night time rides.

Fantastic idea. First time I've used a Pinlock insert. Quick easy transaction, thank you Sportsbikeshop.

The dark tint is good - about the same as a decent pair of sunglasses. I found the lighter "road legal" version a little too light to be useful.

The price is high for what it is. Equivalent visors for other brands are typically a third to a half less but I am certain that's due to Shoei over-pricing rather than SBS since I couldn't find it considerably cheaper anywhere else - the listings and pictures for cheaper ones found on various auction and marketplace sites are quite clearly not genuine Shoei products.

That said, you're getting genuine Shoei quality. It's easy to install, fits well, operates smoothly and looks gorgeous on the helmet. It's pinlock ready and, oddly enough, using the clear pinlock insert that was supplied with my Shoei GT-Air, it works better than it does with the clear visor and I get practically zero fog even with the visor closed and locked.

I'd probably be inclined to buy a couple of other visors with different finishes if the price were more reasonable, but it's just about good enough to justify the price for riding in the daytime.

As always Sportsbikeshop's delivery was fantastic and price match first rate. The returns policy and refund handling has to be the best there is.
Regards the visor, arrived quickly and was packaged with yellow not road legal sticker over the resealable opening to the packaging. This sticker was the type that rips when you try to remove it and cannot be reattached. The item cannot be returned if this is removed and as I bought a dark smoke and the silver to see what looked best on my new helmet, also purchased from Sportsbikeshop, I had to return both unopened. This was really disappointing but at £128 for both I couldn't and didn't want both. I love Sportsbikeshop and will continue to buy from them for all the reasons listed at the start but when it comes to visors this is a stupid rule and a stupid place to put a sticker telling the obvious and something no one bothers with anyway! Not sure if Shoei or Sportsbikeshop put the stickers there but it is a stupid place to put it, especially when the visor cannot be clearly seen in the packaging due to stickers on the visor etc. Mark is for the above reasons, very disappointed!

It's a dark tinted visor so not much more to add! Does what it should do (and very well). I like the fact that the Pinlock pins are smaller than the normal ones. 4 star for 2 reasons (I'm being bit harsh though). 1. Price, I bought a dark tint visor for my other helmet (HJC RPHA 11) at the same time and the Shoei was significantly more expensive, not SBS's fault, more Shoei. 2. The attachment mechanism is a bit fiddly, with the clear visor you can see all the tabs and slots etc so easier to attach, the tinted takes a bit more time.
