Givi ST605+ - Tanklocked Tankbag 5L

I bought this to replace the exact same bag I'd had for almost 10 years. Full disclosure.. I broke the zip on the last one by overfilling it and forcing the zip closed. Some might say I need a bigger bag, but it was a rare moment where I acted in haste rather than put the the extra luggage into a pannier. Anyway, other than that the bag has been great and after much research (all other brands) I decided to get the same again. I like the SW Motech but it doesn't lock to the bike and has no loops for a shoulder strap. The Givi is a good size for keys, phone, wallet, specs, shades, etc.. and clips on and off the tank ring easily. I wouldn't lock it on and leave it, but the lock is a useful feature for those brief moments when you're not too far from the bike.
This bag has clearly been updated by Givi compared to the previous one; the new red upper (lid) compartment makes it easier to see what's in there, through the mesh separator screen (which has a zip). The main zip seems a better quality than my previous bag, it feels far smoother and more precise. It also has longer tangs, which make it easier to open and close whilst wearing gloves. Not much else I can say other than it's just right for my needs, quality and function is spot on, and I ain't easily pleased!

Compared to the old magnetic designs this is a huge step forward. I like that you can lock it your bike.You have the option of adding a lock to the zip if you really wanted to, but I suspect somebody could just slit it open with a knife if they really wanted to get it. Like all Givi products I've owned it seems well made. Only downsides are the top surface seems to show finger prints very well and it does look a bit like a handbag when you're carrying it around.

Ordered Thursday afternoon and arrived Friday morning! Brilliant service from SBS. the tank bag is of top quality and a really useful size for odds and sods, including a bottle of water. Can be locked onto the tank ring and the zip allows for a padlock as well. Really well thought-out piece of kit.
