TecMate OptiMate 4 Quad Program 12V Battery Optimiser

Anyone I have spoken to about optimates and own one mentioned that they keep working on and on and on and just refuse to break. so far so good, although I wish there was a wee digital screen on them to see a bit more information about the current state of the batter

I managed to revive two dead bike (Honda) batteries in less than 48 hours.
The charger came in a day and as always SBS delivered an amazing service.
The settings on the charger are easy, but I still watched the videos by Optimate. Program 1 (blue light on the left) works fine for most bike batteries. Simply connect and wait until you see the green light. If your battery is on the bike and you have a tracker or anything that continuously draws power, the light on the charger stays on amber. That's normal. I've used Optimate products before and both the products and company are solid. You will not be disappointed.

I already own an Optimate 2 and use it frequently, it's been brilliant. Small compact and easy to use. So, when I needed another for a second bike It was a no brainer decision for me. The only thing I had to decide was which one. I knew my battery was either dead or was very very low unfortunately, so rather than buying a new battery straight away, I went for this one. I plugged it in and let it do its stuff. After 1 reset and 48 hours it totally recovered my battery. An excellent piece of kit. I would totally recommend Optimate for battery recovery and health.

Works as it should.
I use it on a 2015 Ducati 1299 Panigale and it keeps it charged well.

As my bikes have a tracker, if you don't ride for more than 3 days the battery will go flat.

I had the OptiMate 4 (non lithium) on my previous bikes for the last 5 years with no a single hic-up or need for battery change.

New bike is a lithium so the need to change was easy, which OptiMate does the job.

Use is really easy you push the button to tell the device what batter you have then plug it in and let it work away. Usually it will show your batter as low or medium, puts the go go juice in over an hour or so then it runs a diagnostic to make sure the battery is healthy, if it isn't it will do some wizardry to fix the problem.

In short plug in, next day see if all the lights are green, carry on until you ever see otherwise (then google what the lights mean at that point! lol). Couldn't be simpler!

Navigating the various options was a pain, especially as the difference in price between this charger and the BMW / Triumph canbus version seemed excessive for a difference that turned out to be inclusion of the canbus connector. They're easy to buy online and will save you a few quid. Apart from the instructions, which are poor, the charger is great and simply plugs into my 2023 R1250 GS at the end of each ride when I get home.

Bit pricey, but does what it claims. Good charger.

After 10 years of use my opti 3 gave up the ghost, so updated to the four gold, very pleased easy to read instructions (just look at the first inside coloured page for light indication), up and running on trickle charge in 5 minutes brilliant product and highly recommend
