Hot Garbage
21 November 2024 by Andy
Good points - grips are very very hot, almost too hot. After testing them they started to smell like burning but this could be normal. The battery cut off also works very well, I watched the voltage drop just under 12v and they immediately turned themselves off.
The bad -
The manual says to test them but for no longer than a couple of minutes for safety reasons - why?
It also says you cannot connect them directly to the battery, then on the next page gives you specific instructions on how to connect them directly to the battery - very confusing.
The wiring included in this set is very cheap, I don't think I've seen a smaller gauge wire used for an item such as this, its so thin the smallest amount of pressure will break it which is what happened to me when I tried to get the protective sleeve off. The wiring has no connectors on the end so regardless of how you intend to connect them you are going to have to know how and have the tools to crimp the wires to whatever connector you use. Its also bare so looks cheap and exposed to the elements if you are unable to hide it completely within the fairing.
After an hour of trying to get theming working with my auxiliary connector I realised the inline fuse had blown. Wish I had checked this fist as I have no idea if the grips are faulty or another issue.
I could have got them working by removing the fuse and butchering the wiring but at this price why should I? Really in this day manufacturers should be giving us modular connectors to let the customer decide how to connect the grips.
If this set was £50 I could excuse it but for £100 its getting sent back. Avoid.

Nice tasteful heated grips

So far very good. This is the second set I have purchased of these Daytona grips and have been happy with the look and feel. Also the heat has been decent even though I just use one or two of the settings. I would recommend them.

The best heated grips
11 November 2024 by Robert S
I have owned multiple Oxford heated grips and thought I would give these a try as they don't have a speedster control panel. These heat up super quick and look amazing. In my opinion better then the Oxford range and a lot cheaper then the comparative model. Fitting is a bit more awkward then the oxfords but easily DIY.

Superb performance

I was looking for a set of heated grips for my Honda ADV done some research but did not like a aftermarket switch on the handlebar so opted for these, being integrated in the grip itself making it look OEM without the price tag, they are excellent and get very hot they have a nice feel with quality rubber. also easy to fit.

Good looking grips, good value
25 October 2024 by Anonymous
Very pleased with these grips so far. They look sleek without the controller to mount and warm up reasonably quickly. The real test is yet to come of course. Price-wise I'm very happy with the value too as so much cheaper than similar looking grips, let alone the "official" ones from the dealer. The only negative is that the button is very difficult to operate with winter gloves but when it's properly cold they'll go on max before I even get on.
Great service from SBS as always.

A good alternative to oem

I tried these for my 22 Duke 790 as there is no factory option and Oxford ones don't fit the throttle tube. Easy to file off the ribbed inside to fit and simple to install by piggybacking off a switched fuse. Buy some decent grip glue as they need it for the clutch side and it isn't included and instructions specifically advise not to use superglue type. They get warm quickly and have no large controller to fit. Very pleased to finally have a solution for my Duke.
