Hiplok Z Lok Combo

A great idea for securing your helmet etc when out and about. Simple idea that hopefully puts off opportunist thieves. Good construction with a steel core, think Ty-wrap on steroids and that's what this is. That good I bought one for my biking mate.

This lock works and I've been using it to lock my helmet to the handlebars for a few weeks now. However, there's a potentially huge issue with it. The default combination of 000 was never the combination when it arrived. It was 009 which, luckily, I managed to figure out as you can hear it click in to place as you turn the dials. No big deal I hear you say. well, the combination is now 007. For a while it was 008. I'm guessing at some point it wil be 006. What I'm really hoping is that at no point do I come back to my bike and can't figure out the code at all!!! I've found myself just not changing the combination when I attach my helmet, just in case I can't undo it, relying instead on people seeing a lock and assuming it's LOCKed.

I accept this could just be a faulty example of a perfectly good lock, but another real downside is that the numbers are tiny and almost impossible to see in anything but a nice sunny day. I keep having to use the torch on my phone...

This is a neat lock. It's portable, easy to use and strong enough to deter non-professional thieves! I mainly use it for locking my bicycle up around our small town. It could also be used for locking your motorcycle helmet to your bike.
