Almost zero elasticity
26 March 2025 by Jon
A simple strap, similar in design to the excellent Rok straps which I have longer ones. The metal G hooks are great. But there is almost no elasticity in the strap, it looks the part for a shorter thinner strap but with only approx 1cm stretch of the elastic section it’s no better than using a regular fabric strap. Cheaper than rok straps, but I’d pay the extra and buy the originals

Strong, long and you can't go wrong!

I grabbed these to suppliment an ongoing addiction to luggage accessories on my journeys.
While I have ratchet straps, Rok Straps, nets and a variety of both paracord and even home-made straps these tick a box for not using clips and instead having hooks.
Not a conventional issue per-se, but very hand why you have a heavier or more awkward load you need to stay in place for a while and don't necessarily need quick access to - which does happen as we all know.
I got to use these the other week and the only eyebrow-raising moment was when taking them off the packaging I found the straps seemed to be ever so slightly "stuck" to each other at the ends (where the loops are) but this is both not a problem and provided the tangible pleasure of peeling off the protective plastic on a new TV or computer Monitor, so all's good.
I was really pleased at how long these are - which has been key in securing together the luggage which will be used for a couple of us going into the EU in a few weeks time.
Given a "dummy" load of most of the kit this weekend, I was really pleased at how they held up on a dry-run while out enjoying the weather and kept tension, as well as being easy to remove.
These will, undoubtedly, be getting pride of place as my first call on being used for heftier, heavier or wider loads for peace of mind.

Good quality straps
21 February 2024 by David S
I selected the G straps as I've had mixed results with the B type over the years. I haven't used them in anger yet but they look good quality and strong.

Better than ratchet straps
14 February 2024 by Peter A
I bought these with the G hooks because I don't trust the plastic B clips. I haven't tried them with my full camping gear yet but I'm sure they will work well.

Stronger and much safer than a bungee, Oxford's Atlas Straps are adjustable self-tensioning straps. Their extra strong, flat webbed design is easy to adjust to the desired length and the quick release G-hook makes them simple to detach. The strap has an elasticated section which keeps the strap under constant tension, providing a safer and more secure hold compared to regular solid straps.
