I have steered clear of sintered pads in the past in the probably mistaken belief that they would eat my discs. For normal road use I gambled on semi sintered being a compromise I could live with.
The difference in initial bite and power is noticeable, turning very average brakes into useful ones.

The EBC V series brakes pads provide excellent stopping power specifically designed for touring bikes. The pads are semi-sintered pad containing 30% copper by weight, this combines the benefits of the feel of an organic pad plus the low heat generation and rotor galling features with the lifetime of a sintered pad.
