Does the u lock have a minimum size to fit the top plate?

I have these on both my bikes and they are an excellent price from SBS. Handy to be able to carry a U Lock but you will need an extra long one to fit.

Only fits really long U-Locks

OK for fitting the top box, but wouldn't fit any of my U-Locks. I had to buy an extra long one. The shackle needs to be at least 280mm long. Looks realy ugly when the top box is not fitted, but the ability to carry a U-Lock under the top box makes it handy.

This seems to be a strong well made plate that holds are old box which fixes to it nicely. Haven't tried the lock storage yet but very nice simple idea to make carrying and store your lock a breeze. Not sure if a large hiplok dx1000 would fix, will have to measure.

Have a Suzuki VStrom 650 and a Givi E300NT MonoLock Topcase. Had already purchased the Givi SR3112 Rear Rack but found the universal top plate supplied with the Topcase didn't fit so bought this. They all fit together nicely. Good solid Top Plate.

Superb dimensions for a compact top box. Easy fixing on M5 or M6 base plate. Lightweight, so much lighter than a metal equivalent. Good design with reflective panels. Good buy and value for money.
