Verified Customer Reviews for Rev'it Seesoft Back Protector Insert KN
I had bought a used Rev'it Tornado 1st gen suit for hot weather use that was in great condition but lacked any back armour. After a few enquiries, it transpired I needed this particular one to fit the pocket in the jacket. Although pretty chunky, it is slightly flexible so as to be pretty comfortable, and you hardly know it's there when fitted. This is important as it is an essential extra for a summer mesh jacket. Great price and quick delivery as always.
It fits the ignition 3 jacket perfectly and is easy to fit. When I first put it on it did feel clunky and rigid but you soon get accustomed to it and having ridden 500+ miles with it in I would describe it as knowing its there providing a bit of reassured peace of mind and you do feel it but its not at all uncomfortable. As usual: SBS zinged it out to me like lightning, many thanks!
Coverage is good, needed a large back protector for my new jacket and this fits pretty well. However, I did expect this to be softer and more flexible than it ended up being. No safer than D3O impact wise, both transfer 8kN if I'm not mistaken, but D3O is definetly more comfortable. Probably would be more comfortable in a jacket designed for this specific back protector but overall, it feels pretty rigid but it is soft enough. I find this one less breathable too. It is noticeably thinner than my comparable D3O back protector so it works well in urban style jackets as it's a little less noticeable.
I've been grateful I'd worn this sort of protection in the past. The previous one wouldn't transfer to a new jacket but this replacement feels and looks like it will do the job again if necessary and fits perfectly in the pocket. Although it has some reassuring thickness it's comfortable to wear.
First back armour I've had which you don't know you've got in.
Bought this to fit with my new AirWave jacket (which I also really like). Nice to have a back protector in there and this one fits well and is light, flexible and should give good protection. Hopefully I'll never need it.
Bought this to add in to my Rev It CR1 Suit. Fits perfectly and sits really well on my back within the suit. The protector sits within the removable liner which means it will move slightly. If you want better protection than go for a separate wearable protector. These feel and seem better than others on the market.
Rev'it Seesoft Back Protector Insert KN
The Seesoft CE-Level 2 back protector insert is designed to absorb variable impacts without compromising on comfort, ventilation or freedom of movement. The highly impact-resistant blend of Nitrille and Polynorbornene rubber results in a memory foam that is multi-impact rated and CE certified to the highest level (EN 1621-2:2003 - level 2).
In the case of severe angular impact, the individual Memory foam layers will shift relative to one another, resulting in impact dispersion over a larger effective surface area, and therefore minimizing the energy that is transmitted to the spine and back. By applying a multiple-layer concept, Rev'it has developed a flexible back protector insert that performs consistently in all conditions. The size required for a particular Rev'it jacket will have the type and size marked on the protector pocket.
