R&G Racing 2 Piece Engine Case Cover Kit - Suzuki GSX-R600 / 750

The delivery time was excellent.

Fitting is fairly straightforward.
I did check with R&G regarding the placement of the supplied washers. They fit on the outside, under the screw head to prevent the spacers being pulled through the cover. One of the washers on the left hand cover had to be reduced in diameter as it caught the edge of the cover.

It was a bit disconcerting tightening the covers down as the two part spacers creak and tend to give the impression that you are over- tightening the bolts.

I decided to fit the spacers to the covers off the bike, using a 6mm bolt, washer and nut, that way I could see that the two part spacer and collar was tightened down fully. I feel that this method avoids the uncertainty as to weather you are stripping the thread.

I have yet to test ride the bike but I will re-check the bolts after the engine has been through a couple of heat up and cool down cycles.

These items look the part but if you already have the crash bungs you don't actually need these, but my main issue is with the fitment. The bolts you take out run flush almost with a built in washer yet these once tightened can't be flush to the casings as the washer is on the wrong side (except the sealing one off the engine cover). You are far better with the R&G bungs or if you have to have case protection too then get the bar type ones as the bolts on that set actually have a washer type surface that will run flush to the casing and still offer great protection. I had a minor spill at Cadwell on my bike and the bungs saved my engine case and the larger part of the fairing, saving me a big repair bill, the only damaged part was my ram air cover.

As for sportsbike shop, they got the item to me very quick, so fantastic service as always.
