Bike It 12V USB Socket

I was researching these sockets for some time and read plenty about cheaper ones with battery voltage display and how they end up because of the water ingress.

I chose this product on its solid feel & build (inspected in the shop before the purchase). I liked the thicker and protected (sleeved) wires with inline fuse as well as rubber cup completely covering the socket for total weather protection.

Installation was easy after fairing removal. No drilling; it slots right into the pre-made hole and back nut to tighten it up. Rubber cup eye ring sorting out the water tightness in the panel. One can also fit it on the handle bars. I run the cables along the tank to the battery for permanent connection.

Personally, I wanted all time power without ignition on for compressor re-charge in case of emergency tyre repair - an experience from previous punctures.

Unfortunately, the socket is blue lit when powered which was unexpected. Who needs the invisible light under the rubber cup draining the battery? In my case, the wires are disconnected / unplugged under the main seat ready for possible emergency as I do not have a need to power anything else.

It is very well build socket for reasonable price. Inline switch would be welcome but if you intend to use it while riding it is perfectly fine.

Bought for my PX Vespa, looks like it could do the job to me, not yet fitted.

Charges my phone very fast.
Wished it come with some sort of switch as once it is connected to the battery its on all the time unless you disconnect it.
