Women don’t get as wide a choice of winter gloves as blokes (sadly for us)… but we can still find a glove that has everything we need
The gloves in this guide have been chosen using reviews left by customers on the Sportsbikeshop website, all written by women just like you…
Richa Ladies 9904 Waterproof Glove - Black
Customer rating:
A common theme across customer reviews for these Richa gloves is the accuracy of sizing. They’re especially praised by women with smaller hands, as they go down to a size 2XS. They’re complimented on warmth and waterproofing, thanks to a Thinsulate thermal lining and Hipora membrane. The gloves are Level 1 CE-approved (including approval for the knuckle protection) and took an average of 4.83 stars from the first 35 customer reviews.
Held Ladies Ice Queen Waterproof Textile Glove - Black
Customer rating:
According to Sportsbikeshop customers, the Ice Queen gloves really live up to their name, helping wearers battle through wintry conditions and come out unscathed. Their warmth and comfort were praised by all 16 reviewers, who gave them an average of 4.81 stars, and they said there was little bulkiness, even for a winter glove. The amount of protection in the form of hard knuckles and reinforcement at likely impact areas was also noted, as was the solid build quality.
Richa Ladies Arctic Waterproof Textile Gloves - Black
Customer rating:
The Arctics were rated as a RiDE Magazine Best Buy in their safety assessments, which tested for abrasion resistance, impact protection and waterproofing. Their ability to keep digits dry has been recognised by Sportsbikeshop customers, who also praise the comfort. Customers love the feeling of protection, with CE-approved knuckle armour, padding at the wrist and scaphoid – and hard protection for fingers. They have an average of 4.76 stars from the first 17 reviews.
Weise Ladies Ripley WP Leather Glove - Black
Customer rating:
The Weise Ladies Ripley gloves feature a full-grain leather construction, with a waterproof and breathable membrane, and fleece lining. Sportsbikeshop customers have awarded these gloves an average of 4.33 stars from the first six reviews, commending the gloves for their build quality, fit, and good value. They’re not the bulkiest gloves, which is good for dexterity, but limits their usefulness in deepest winter. Perhaps these are best suited to chilly conditions (down to around 10°C) rather than full-on cold days. Customers are happy with the position and comfort of the knuckle impact protector.
Rev'it Ladies Hydra 2 H2O Gloves - Black
Customer rating:
Three reviews for these gloves might seem a small sample, but all three riders have given the maximum five stars for these short, warm gloves. And if you roll in feedback for the mens version of the Hydra 2 then you get an impressive 4.80 from 15 reviews. The knitted cuff gives a good barrier against cold, but we’d suggest making sure your jacket has long enough sleeves to create a seal with the cuff, as exposed skin is a surefire way of feeling cold. The Hydra 2 gloves have a leather palm combined with a textile backhand that’s bolstered by soft impact protection for the knuckles. A Hydratex waterproof liner is bonded to the gloves to stop it pulling out when you remove your hand, and the Thinsulate thermal lining is a tried and trusted insulation material.
