Advice & Guides For the best chance of staying dry, laminated waterproofing is the way to go…

Customers are overwhelmingly positive about this jacket, praising its comfort, waterproof capabilities, and affordability compared to high-end brands. The jacket effectively keeps wearers warm and dry in various weather conditions, even in heavy rain. Some customers noted the jacket's quick-drying properties and appreciate its design features, such as adjustable elements. There were minor issues with the collar and zippers, as mentioned by a few customers, but overall, it is seen as a versatile and well-designed product offering great value.
Neck clasp is a bad design. Came apart therefore not waterproof as water gets in through the top.
Great fit, usual Oxford value for money and even better with the SBS discount. Goes over gloves easily, but a little bulky for gloves that go over. Worn in light rain and worked well. Not used in heavy rain yet. Personally prefer double front zips, but single zip with flap and Velcro seems to work well. Used in under 10 degree temperatures with only a thermal base layer and T shirt and comfortable.
I am amazed at how far textile riding gear has come in the 20 years since we were using Rukka and this jacket is a great example. It is so comfortable and keeps the wind and wet at bay. Its such good value I am looking forward to year round riding.
Good fit, works well with one liner only so not too bulky and very good value. Air vents work well, this is my second Mondial and I wear it all year round.
This is excellent value, lots cheaper than it's laminated shell rivals. Given that I had to return the first one because the large size was too small ( great returns system incidentally) and reorder the xL size, I usually take size L in other things so worth bearing in mind. The XL fits really well and with the liner in is nice and toasty, there are a good number of pockets both inside and out, the neck closure system is also much better than the usual Velcro type.
Issue: the wrist gap when the zip is fully down is a bit tight and because the size is up from L to XL. the sleeves are a touch long, although that's just me perhaps.the jacket looks good on and so far has proved both water and draught resistant. All in all very pleased with it.
Bought this jacket on recommendations from other bikers who couldn't afford the more expensive proven jackets. So far so good.
This jacket fits perfectly, keeps me warm and dry, but not yet used in heavy rain, although I have complete confidence in it. Lots of pockets, just what I need! Marvellous jacket, nothing to dislike!
This jacket is one of the best ive owned warm comfy waterproof its that good i bought 2 of them great price its worth more in my opinion as its better than some more expensive jackets
My first laminate jacket and loving it, very comfortable and practical.
In a warmer 20degree day (haven't tried it in a super hot temps yet) with all the vents open its absolutely fantastic.
In colder days with all the vents closed and warm liner in place its more than enough over a simple long sleeve base layer.
Very curious to see how it'll perform in very low temps with just a thicker base layer.
I have been caught in a huge downpour while riding and the jacket kept me dry and the front pocket kept by wallet safe and dry too.
Being laminate, it dried easily once the rain stopped and I kept riding.
Very happy and would buy again
Milton Keynes SBS staff great with all the advice.
Great fit, comfortable out of the box and astonishing value for money. In the finest traditions of the Sportsbikeshop, another top quality product at an almost unbelievable price. I've worn branded jackets costing three times as much, which catch the eye but, also, catch the rain and cold winds... So; if you're new to motorcycling in the UK, this is a brilliant first jacket and if, like me, you're seasoned (old git..!) looking for a second jacket for a bit of variety, look no further, your quest is over. Buy this one. Pete (P.S. I do not work for Oxford but, if they ask me nicely...)
I’m one of those people who carry out way too much research on potential purchases. After much deliberation and trying on various brands budget and midrange I settled on the Oxford Mondial.
My initial thoughts were that it looked a bit bland compared to the likes of Alpinestars Andes 3.
However. My brother had drawn my attention to this particular jacket as he had bought it a few years ago and was very pleased with its performance. He wore it on a particularly wet tour of northern Spain and remained completely dry throughout.
My main reason for this purchase was an upcoming tour of south Wales, with the anticipation of getting wet high on the agender.
The Brecon Beacons did not disappoint! On several occasions the heavens opened and the rain was torrential. Throughout these deluges I remained completely dry. I would also like to mention that the thermal lining kept me warm and the various vents were very efficient when the sun shone and the temperature rose.
All this for £370 including the matching trousers and back protector.
Once again the staff at the Harlow branch were excellent.
Five years on still using it amazing value for money still fully waterproof
Great fit, comfortable to wear and waterproof and cheap in comparison, what more do you want.
I've had this coat for a couple of years now and have been happy and impressed throughout. I ride to work through all weather conditions and the coat holds up, extremely warm, and even warmer with the fleece lining.
The reason why i'm writing a review after such a long time, is because earlier today i rode back from London in what can only be described as biblical conditions, the rain was absolutely crazy, and seemed to follow me all the way home (45 minutes) When i got home, i took offa light grey long sleeved top, and they only wet masrk was a slight darkening around the neck, as i dont like anything tight around it... was absolutely amazed as it was the worst and longest downpour i can remember.
Thoroughly recommend this jacket.
The jacket is exactly what I was looking for. To get a laminated jacket at this price is great. It's fits well and is comfortable. Great vents for summer and warm for winter.
I haven't tried it in the rain yet.
I was looking to replace my short jacket of 15 years which was showing signs of age now, so decided a replacement was necessary. A trip to Sportsbike Shop in Boston was required. I had previously looked at the Oxford Mondial Advanced Textile Jacket and it had very good reviews, but needed to try it myself. I must say when first put on, the ease and comfort of the fit was apparent from the off. Perfect. I had more of a problem deciding on the colour aventurely purchasing the Tech Grey.
So far I've been out on the bike once with this jacket, very comfortable. Thank you again Sportsbike Shop for the help with you gave me.
Done 10K miles in this jacket. Looks good and feels comfortable but waterproof, or absence of it lets it down. OK for a light shower but anything else requires a waterproof layer on top.
Really happy with this item. Fits really nicely with adjustable height armor plates for the elbows. Has really good quality zips to connect to the trousers. Useful vented sections in the body and great zips at the bottom of the sleeves. Really useful neck adjustment to keep the colar snug. Looking forward to try out the water resistance of the laminated material.
As they say, there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear. Today's riding jackets are expected to be technically brilliant but that comes at a price with laminate jackets appearing at the top of that pile. Enter the new Oxford Mondial - technically brilliant but at a price that is within reach of all discerning motorcycle riders. In addition it's light weight, doesn't hold water in a downpour and dries out really quickly.

There are 2 external pockets that are not waterproof. There are 4 internal pockets, 2 on the inside of the thermal liner and 2 on the inside of the jacket itself. Whilst there are no dedicated waterproof pockets, the 4 internal pockets are on the inside of the waterproof liner, so there should be no water ingress from outside conditions.
