Quality jacket
15 March 2020 by Duffy
Really nice jacket. Got it at discount price so was well worth it. I've lost some weight so went for a 52 and it fits perfect. I'm about a 39-40 chest. It's snug and reassuringly heavy. The matching trousers are nice but the sewn in shin pads are a pain in the arse, especially if you have thick legs so order a different style. But the price was right so an very happy!

Brilliant jacket "but"!

OK 1st high end leather jacket I've ever owned and yes I am very impressed, typical Dainese quality. Firstly the fit, the sizing is not true to size, I'm a size 45.5" chest and would normally wear a size 46" I ordered a size 48" which fits perfectly, a size 46" would have been far to small. Secondly the quality, quite a heavy, well made jacket, real quality leather with armour that stays in the right places, I have no doubt that if I was unfortunate enough to get intimate with the tarmac that this jacket would provide me with some of the best protection available. One problem I had when it arrived was locating the charging port / lead, the instructions are not very easy to follow, I eventually found the lead tucked behind a small hatch, which you prize open, embedded into the top of the back protector. My reason for only giving the jacket four stars are due to two design faults which I would like to think Dainese look at for the future, the first is the location of the inflation cylinder, it sits directly over the lumbar vertebra, IMO the location of this cylinder has the potential to exacerbate a lower back injury depending on how you fall, the second is the fact that the set up of the jacket will not recognise a rear end impact, such as being ended when sitting at traffic lights, as it doesn't recognise this it therefore will not inflate. These issues haven't detracted from my love of this jacket, well made, I feel safe wearing it and its also surprisingly warm, I would recommend this jacket along with SBS as suppliers.

Questions and Answers
Hi. Is it possible to replace the airbags for a new one after an accident? If yes, how much it costs?
June 5, 2019The jacket would need to be returned to Dainese for inspection. A simple recharge would cost £200, any accident damage repair would be extra. The jacket would be sent to Dainese, and they will then advise on the total cost.
